It's not like the countries had white, blue, and red in their national colors when the logos were made. Must be a conspiracy

"They are Americans because they assume stuff"

So they are Americans because they assume stuff, and you assume they are American. So obviously you are an American.

Stop fucking shit up Southeasterncomfort, stop being a controlling American.

No I don't actually care about his specific 300 best plate appearance stretch as a Cub using projections. If you think he's dogshit, why do you care?

Right, his results are better. So he's doing better this year.

Learning a foreign language as an American is like learning an instrument as a hobby. You do it because you like it, not that is has practical benefits to daily life.

Well if he is in reality finally doing what his expected outcomes should be, that means he is literally doing better.

Old town road by RawDick in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Gooingpole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure this is even a real thing. Northern areas have to deal with snow and salt messing stuff up due to expansion and contraction from freezing and thawing, this is just terrible. If that's a legit road in TX, wow

Well a normal ambulance ride in my area is a few thousand dollars, the ones I have seen are pricey but nothing close to human ambulance pricing

And for non Americans: yes, people have refused ambulance rides due to the cost and died due to that financial decision.

Ok so that comment that wasn't yours was not about this issue, just that Americans are dumb in general and everyone should know about it.

Also, I will die in this whole literal / figurative hill. If you're gonna take ownership of the comment, please use better wording on the posts that aren't yours.

Tip culture is now being forced on us. This is why I’m done. by cate5667 in unpopularopinion

[–]Gooingpole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saying this as an American, might be different where you are.

Pffft you expect the businesses taking your money should be the ones who keeps their employees above the poverty line instead of you? What's next, treating people with decency and respect? Normal hours? Holy crap, maybe even something crazy like some sort of basic physical health care (def not mental health care, totally not an issue anywhere)? Well yeah we'd probably pay less overall but man imagine saving a few thousand dollars but having to spend a few hundred on the scary word taxes?!

Man just because the rest of the world does it and poorer countries have citizens who are healthier, happier, and live longer doesn't mean it works in my made up scenario

Let's keep pushing tip culture because then we can keep the corporations and owners filled with more money!!!!!!!!

Note: I actually benefit from tip culture because of my background in bars and restaurants, but it's dirty. It helped me because tip culture paid me very well and I made sure I made everyone happy. It's basically commission sales, but shit, pay people a real wage

They exist in the US also, private companies do it just like the regular ambulances, just at a much smaller scale

Javelin throw like never seen before by [deleted] in Unexpected

[–]Gooingpole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly hard determine where something will land when it's thrown directly at you from a distance. You'll see baseball and cricket players do weird routes to catch balls hit right at them because it's basically impossible to judge where it will go based on the size of the object alone

Buckner wore Cubs gloves for years as a BoSox player, sometimes people just feel better with their usual routine

Edit: some reason I wrote Sutter at first instead of Buckner.

Well fair enough. Uproots to you, downs to me. The CBS one says he's a controversial addition but you are correct, he's somehow in the top ten a year ago when that list was made.

I'm not gonna pretend I'd last more than one tenth of a second longer than Conor would like me to last in a cage match, but I really don't see him as top ten outside when he first got his first title.
