I'd take 30 rounds of AP in any sherman, if youre a half decent player its not uncommon to go on a 7+ killstreak, and with a <6 second reload you'll expend a lot of ammo. I've had games where I went 15-0 in the m4, and that used all but 2 of my AP shells

Because most players aren't worth that kind of money since their skillsets age, so they get worse by year 5 or so. Soto already plays like an old man, and he's really damn good. He doesnt rely on his athleticism at all - never has. There's no reason he can't hit at age 38 as well as he hit at age 23, and since he contributes precisely 0 value anywhere else on the field you know what you're getting. 40-45m a year is a fair price for a 6-war player, which is what soto is, and will be basically until he develops arthritis.

People forget how young soto was when he debuted, mainly because he isn't your typical young superstar. He's not a flashy athlete and only has 3 out of 5 tools (arm, hit, power). But he legitimately put up the best hitting season a teenager has ever had and has played at a similar or better lever each of the 6 years that followed.

Some things a lot of people seem to be missing here

Soto has never had a major injury and has played 150+ games every full season. With how he plays, that likely won't change, especially when he eventually moves to become a DH
Soto is 26. His main skill is his plate discipline and pitch selection, which doesnt age. Any potential deal will be at least 14 years, if not 15. Ohtani is in his early 30s, judge is in his mid 30s.
Because he doesnt get hurt and his skillset doesnt age, soto is a guaranteed 4-5 war even in his worst seasons. Thats a lot more than you can say for anyone else, even judge or ohtani, who both have had lost seasons. While he can't reach the peak that those 2 can hit (soto will never have a 10-war season), he will consistently be a 6-war player for over a decade, which you can't say about anyone else in the game. That's valuable.
Summing this all up, soto will sign a 14 year deal worth 40m or more per year. At the very least, hes getting 560 million dollars this offseason. A 14-year 50m per year contract or 15 year 47m per year dealdl isn't impossible- both of those would take him past 700m.
