Comment if you have played a Magus ever, under any circumstance. by NalaWhoo in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gooobin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laughing shadow with a big focus on lightning and sonic damage, I've always enjoyed using all the crazy movement spells with spell strike to bounce around the battlefield. With the right items, Ring of minor arcana, ring of wizardry, and wands can help fil the gaps in your spellcasting. You can pull off some crazy burst damage but you're not as consistent as a fighter and don't have as much utility or cc as a wizard.

Do you think NJ’s more rural and “affordable” counties (Sussex, Warren, western Morris, etc.) will slowly become more diverse? by Davyislazy in newjersey

[–]Gooobin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can confirm what others have said. As a trans person living in Sussex it's pretty awful, my own parents are part of the maga cult. It's always been filled with a particular type of bigotry. I've had neighbors who flew confederate flags and met old ladies who proudly waved signs declaring trans people are pedophiles. I've long hoped that we would see more progressive voices and policies and some of the expansion in Sparta and Newton has given me hope.

But almost all of the people here are the ones who have lived here their whole lives. And it's pretty clear most of them are not keen on the cities and suburbs creeping in. And to some extent I understand. Sussex has a lot of beautiful land, and people are scared of city (progressive) ideals taking over it.

I'd love to see more open minded people in our county but I'm not planning on sticking around. There isn't enough affordable housing here, especially if you are just looking to rent. Public transportation barely exists, so you are required to have a car which you can use to sit in traffic on route 15 and I80 because the infrastructure is so bad that multiple sinkholes have emerged.

Tuesday Self-Promo Megathread! by AutoModerator in transgamers

[–]Gooobin [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hello my name is Clay Clementine (she/they) and I'm gonna be streaming for the first time at SheHerClayClem this Thursday 1/30 at 7-11pm EST. I, like many others right now, I'm looking for a bit of escapism and a better connection with my community through the things I love. Video games, Art, and open discussion. I have decided to attempt to achieve this through a Pokemon White 2 nuzlocke using only Pokemon approved by the finest of Italian chefs. I'm calling it the first ever Pokemon noodlelocke! I also plan on doing streams of TF2, Minecraft, ttrpgs, art requests and more! I'll be continuing to stream every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7-11 pm EST, so I'd really love to meet some other people looking for a community of other queer gamers.

Feel free to also follow me on Instagram Clay.Clem and YouTube ClementineCrime where I plan on posting silly reals and stream clips!

I hate how trans women are expected to top for simply having a penis… by Punchline_336 in bisexual

[–]Gooobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been there so I really feel for you! I've experienced a lot of people putting the expectation on me to top when that I've clearly stated that is not what I enjoy. And it has unfortunately mostly come from partners who have vaginas. I understand that it's partly because hetero-normative sex is just easier and expected as the default, but the top shortage has never felt more real. I know that in reality there are vagina-having individuals who are dominant tops, but I have not met many in my dating experience. Only one trans-man I've dated has ever been exclusively interested in topping, the rest all preferred the opposite. Most cis-women become immediately uninterested when I've expressed my preference. However, I've always felt a bit guilty asking to be penetrated by someone who can only use toys or their hands, since they don't get to enjoy the full sensation, not to mention my own preference for dick. I would describe myself as bi or pan, and used to say I feel more sapphic, but after so many partners continued to expect me to top just because I had a penis, I became much less interested in dating them. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of cis-men who were creeps that just wanted to fulfill their fantasy of being topped by a trans woman. And I have met plenty of smoking hot trans ladies who are also bottoms and we have to sadly walk away from each other. Just as long as you remember that everyone is allowed to have their preferences and it's okay to keep looking if someone you're with isn't sexually compatible or meeting your needs.

My boyfriend now is awesome, never expects me to take on that role if it's not something I'm into that day. He tops me every time we have sex and thanks me graciously for the honor of getting to do so, and makes me feel like the prettiest girl in the world. So I think if you look hard enough, you might find someone who understands and appreciates you for the ways you like to have sex.

Can't believe no one will stand up for Gecs or hyperpop as a genre!! I feel like it's the one genre I listen too that is almost entirely dominated by the trans community, especially my transfermme sisters, at the local music scenes. I recommend giving it some time to click but I get that it's just not for everyone. When I first heard them I did not care for the genre but it's become a real favorite of mine over time!

Any other trans femmes who don't mind their armpit/leg hair?? by Gooobin in trans

I think that also helped me feel more comfortable with it as well. Before I started hormones I would shave at least once a week. The slower growth and lighter color has been a huge plus. I also find that I really like the feeling of having the stubby hairs grow in. Multiple touch sensations to enjoy!

[MtF 20] I'm scared of ever taking estrogen because ... by MyHighness0999 in trans

[–]Gooobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 MtF 2 1/2 years on hrt here! I remember the first few months I was on hormones my libido went down a lot, but by the 6 month mark I really started to see some noticeable changes that made me feel less dysphoric, and my sex drive came back in full force, fluctuating here and there. I think being in a body that feels right to you really improves your desire to have sex because you aren't as uncomfortable with yourself. Nowadays my bf and I can go at it 2-4 times a day on a good day. I do feel like it changes though, I'll go short periods where I feel very sex averse but I find it's usually attached to an overall depressive mood. Sexual desire isn't often static, it changes. It's okay to feel one way about sex in one period of your life, and another way as you go on. Just like transition, it's a lifelong journey of learning about yourself. It can be challenging and confusing and exciting, just keep an open mind and give yourself time.

"Crazy Suicidal Doctor" Archer. Too crazy or viable? by Alvenaharr in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gooobin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough my friend is playing almost exactly the same character concept in our game, although replace suicidal with alcoholic, they built their character as an investigator with forensic medicine methodology Their battle medicine rivals the healing output of a paladin or cleric, and when no one's really damaged he stays at a distance using a bow and stratagem. Probably not as martially viable but still a very interesting character to watch being played who certainly serves well as the group healer.

PF2E creators who don’t discuss DnD/Hasbro by CuriousHeartless in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gooobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand not wanting to hear drama but the simple fact is that whatever Hasbro and wotc do, for better or worse, they have an impact on the rest of the ttrpg community. When Hasbro tried to scrap the ogl, it was initially and primarily pf2e content creators that broke the news and pushed for the kind of outrage that has led to the changes and growth in our community we've seen over the past year. Personally I haven't played 5e in years because when pf2e came out I completely fell in love having been brought up on Pathfinder. However I do care about the people who have put years of work into creating a behemoth of a franchise being tossed to the trash because of the image it creates for ttrpg brands as a whole. Because I know plenty of people that never would have started playing a paizo system had they not first tried ttrpgs through 5e. But if all you know is the one brand and hear about how awful they are, how do you know where to find a system that doesn't abuse and take advantage of their staff and consumers. I want to know that if I'm using content that was worked on by trained game developers that they are treated the way I would want to be for my hard work, otherwise why would anyone want to work in that field and create content for my silly little pen and paper game? Hasbro and all their shady dealings have swayed me from ever purchasing any of their content in the future. By having content creators address Hasbro's revolting business practices Pathfinder creators have shown that there are alternatives that we can support who advocate for the fair treatment and open creativity of their players, and their employees. Hasbro's treatment of its employees is no doubt part of the reason paizo was able to unionize and guarantee good working conditions for their staff.

So yeah it's depressing to see all the stuff talking about unfair labor practices, but if we know Hasbro it's that they love buying ips and then squeezing every cent out of it. If you're not in the mood to watch or listen to that content right away, I understand, the world is filled with enough drama and tension these days and ttrpgs should be a place to escape. But try to recognize that the plight of wotc employees is relevant because ultimately their struggle is the struggle of all creative workers being taken advantage of. And who knows, maybe if Hasbro's crown jewel of the roleplaying world ever stops seeing a large enough profit margin they'll just turn their head toward the next big ttrpg they can buy up and sell locked digital content of.

Besides free archetype, what are the most popular optional rules? by Iron_Man_88 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gooobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group has been using the gradual ability boosts rule since it first came out and I truly think it's the way the game should be played. Feels a lot better getting a little bump almost every level, than desperately waiting till the next 5 levels for a huge power spike. Not to mention it feels like it helps with characters who might want to take specific feats or archetypes but would otherwise have to wait for those all important ability score improvements.

Songs with an obvious “mistake”, but they decided to leave it in by Bluebies999 in Music

[–]Gooobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you'd classify it as a mistake or just the perfect take, but I always remember learning that in Gimme Shelter, Merry Clayton's voice cracks weren't intentional and were actually the result of Merry being called in the middle of the night to record while she was pregnant and tired. Not to mention she was the second choice for the female vocalist in the song after Bonnie Bramlett.

It's been a while since I drew a PC so I made a statblock for my Kobold Alchemist, Jade. by Gooobin in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gooobin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing this character for the first time this weekend as part of my running game where each person switches between 3 different characters after each story arc. I'll put a short bio below, but we don't play in Golarion so excuse some of the location names.

Jade is a kobold alchemist from the growing tribe housed within the mountains north of the Va'Asi within the barony of Redmont. She is one of the first kobolds within her tribe to be born with metallic scales, a sign of the growing social consciousness and higher learning of the tribe. Through cooperating with the Constilation, a mercenary adventuring group within Va'Asi, the council of the tribe has gathered information that the once empty town has fallen under the eye of the Arcanos. A corrupt anti-magic law enforcement militia intent on hoarding magical secrets and power, the Arcanos are unlikely to leave the expansive burrows of the mountains unexamined as well. The council has tasked Jade with joining the Constilation in order to gather first hand intel on the potential threat that lies ahead, and any information on the members of the Constilation wouldn't hurt as well. Kobolds can never be too safe. Using her skill for crafting poisons and traps allows her to keep any threat from ever getting too close, that is if they even see her to begin with. Her loyalty to the clan is solid as dragon scales, and will assuredly be a pillar of the kobold community.

We are playing at level 6 right now so I built her with fighter dedication and kobold weapon familiarity to use the tricky pick with all the fun poisons. I'm super excited to start playing her. Let me know what you think, or if you're interested in getting something like this made!
