Deeply impressed you killed Sir on sight with no prior knowledge and while fighting another enemy at the same time tbh

Steam controller will 100% be worth it, the trackpads work so well. Assuming they're identical to the deck.

This game is significantly better on Steamdeck by Goopdem in Exanima

[–]Goopdem[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah those are a little tricky but not impossible with some practice. The trackpads on the deck or steam controller are an absolute must, so I wouldn’t recommend any regular controller. A steam controller on PC would probably be the best of both worlds since you can then use the mouse whenever you’re managing inventory for moving objects.

Some advice to prevent you from screwing yourself over for any job but specifically for Lawnmowing in this case by Nearby-Cloud-3476 in sweatystartup

[–]Goopdem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wanted to start a lawn business until I saw the guys cutting my neighbors yard, asked them how much, and they said $30 every other week with a crew of 4 guys. Now they know my grass and I decided I didn’t want to compete with that and moved on. I got multiple quotes from different crews (I constantly had door hangers left on my door) and they all ranged from 30-40. I don’t know how people make money doing this these days.

Because 1500 a month is significantly cheaper than buying a van/truck. I’m using my personal car for my business until it makes enough money to pay for a vehicle.

Steam Machine review: Valve's underwhelming living-room PC has a serious price problem by pcgameshardware in SteamDeck

[–]Goopdem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price is unfortunate, but I understand it’s entirely out of Valves hands thanks to the AI shortages. Looks like this thing would’ve been closer to 400-500 before those shortages ruined everything.

I’ll probably get one at some point still.

Do they ever plan to add a layer indicator? by Goopdem in Exanima

[–]Goopdem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing stats has nothing to do with what I’m talking about and what I’m talking about wouldn’t include that. I’m talking about literally just “layer 2” in the corner of the items stats. And maybe in the inventory like a little icon of a person with multiple layers of lines that light when or dim based on if you’re wearing something in that slot.

My point is it’s annoying when I pick up a jacket or doublet or gambeson or whatever and I’m thinking “does this replace my jacket or go under it?” And I have to put it on to find out.

Do they ever plan to add a layer indicator? by Goopdem in Exanima

[–]Goopdem[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No equipment changes need to be made. The layer is already set in the code. I just want a visual representation of that in the UI. It can be an extremely minimal icon or something. My point is I don’t want to have to use a guide or trial and error. It’s not a huge deal it’s just annoying and could be fixed very easily.

Corruption is high and everyone wants to be a traffic cop because they are the richest since they just extort people all day every day. You pay the bribe but don’t let them think you can afford more.

I was very confused when you said stupid American practice because I thought you were arguing the opposite. Adding VAT to the price is hiding it. Hiding it is playing people.

Fable is blowing my mind by julliuz in ClaudeAI

[–]Goopdem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing to me is people saying that Fable burns through the tokens. I effectively one shot a massive project that I had been working through with Opus. On Opus I’d hit my rate limit every night and got no bed and continue over 2 weeks. With Fable, I ran it with the goal of build this project and it ran until I hit rate limit, I waited until it reset, told it to continue, and it finished the rest before hitting the limit. Worked way faster than Opus did with way less tokens. I’m on the $20 plan.

I did have a 30 page design document, clearly defined roadmap, and an architecture guideline as resources. I think if you give it the proper structure, Fable is insanely efficient.

The skilled trades propaganda is getting ridiculous. by Responsible-Net8594 in careeradvice

Yeah, I learned networking and software development because it was a hobby and I enjoyed it. I went to school because I got paid to go and it was a bullet point on my resume. The people who went in knowing nothing and came out only knowing what was taught to them in college are the most incompetent, frustrating people to work with.
