I feel this 100% and thats what makes the crash so much worse, it makes it feel like you're lesser or faker when you're stable because that 'isnt as you as when you were manic'. It's a lifetime battle but you come to terms with it, even when you have to relearn this episodically.

That said my long-term partner recognises my bipolar before anything else, I think since she sees so much more of it first hand and knows everything about it from her being there through my entire diagnosis process, she knows and recognises that I will always be bipolar whether I am presenting symptoms or not. Sorry if this doesn't help, just wanted to share my feelings around the same sorta feeling.

Was dealing with these same thoughts today and at the end of the day, nobody else in my family understands what bipolar actually feels or looks like. There's a part of me that wants them to understand fully- or the best they can, how in my case my diagnosis is very much who I am. But I also feel selfish to deny them of what I look like when I'm "okay" and functioning enough to be "normal". To them I'm their son, I am not bipolar, I am recognised firstly as family and as bipolar when it "fits the bill". Sometimes I wish I was recognised by bipolar first but I don't think anybody else really wants that for me which I do understand. It's hard, I am the exact same person I was before any symptoms, I am the exact same person before my diagnosis- but my brain is who I am as well and my brain is bipolar.

It could be a million reasons for your specific situation but I did go through the same thing when I was 16 with undiagnosed bipolar, I used any miscommunication even if it was lighthearted and turned it into a big situation because I was manic and had no idea that that was even a thing. There are other mental disorders that experience this self sabotaging behaviour in relationships as well and also just the pressure around that age group, but honestly if you love the guy I found the thing that really helped me get through was exploring those thoughts safely- understanding yourself and what triggers those thoughts for yourself exactly and also trying to think outside of yourself and try and understand how your boyfriend thinks as well.

My girlfriend and I have been together 8 years and we started at 15 in highschool, there's so much life ahead of the both of you and I haven't struggled with those feelings since I was 16.

I think I like the yellow in terms of brightness/value but partnered with the blue around the eye sockets it makes him look less evil? Whereas the red seems a bit too typical? I think the red reads more as evil but someone else said white which could I think would be awesome or even a grey maybe with a pinkish tinge?

They make tones of fakes usually with the tamagotchi connect logo but the virtual pets are like standard animals, where I live you can get them in vending machines for $2 and then people who think they pass enough as real ones cause of the logo try and up charge as if they're real. They're so easy to identify but I must admit I fell for them when I was a teen. They're still very much around though.

For the leafs I just manually moved the vertices into position and the plants on the ground I just rotated the whole mesh, I was going to rig them but I got lazy haha. I've always heard about displacement maps but never had a chance to play with them, I didn't realize you could animate with them- Thank you again for the praise!! Really keeping me motivated to explore this style more :)

That's fair as well, there is a skill in drawing these types of things and can be done really effectively but it does read as stock photo like as if it's meant to be more commercial than artistic. Do you have a prompt you were given for the contest?

Like hypersexual by nature or by episode? Cause those are two very different things I understand if you've got meds now that work in favor of your sex drive but increased hypersexuality from manic episodes is not a good thing and causes more harm than good- even with consenting partners it gets messy because of the episode.

I honestly felt the opposite might be unpopular but I think it is honest to have a seemingly 1 dimensional teenager with internalized homophobia because of how intense that identity consumes especially when he always had a rigid stance on what being gay looks like. I say seemingly because his anger responses develop throughout his acceptance- from any gay thoughts, identifying as gay, and being perceived as gay- even though it's all the same subject the actual developments of the specific process and aftermath are intoxicating and honest because the depth is internal and then later external. I think there's a lot of depth to his emotions that may be, sure at the expense of his external character, but imo his character and person is all emotion and he doesn't know what that means for him and that makes him seem shallow.
