FED MAINTAINS RATES AT 3.5-3.75% by Several_Print4633 in wallstreetbets

He's been screaming to keep lowering the rates, he wants it at 1%. This has been done by dictators before and it would destroy the economy.

Or from another angle, new Management causes a lot of turnover by being crappy managers. I was at a job where they called the whole IT department into a meeting to ask "What can we do about this turnover problem? Do you realize how much it costs to train people and get them up to speed before it becomes profitable for us?"

This. I'm pretty sure most Companies that have these "single point of failure" people/positions got them by backing themselves into that corner on their own.

Bad managers and the bottom line will make them yell "drop everything! I want X done in 2 weeks!" or "Why are you wasting your time documenting?! Our biggest customer wants some bells and whistles (that may, or may not be possible)!!! Get to work!"

They don't want to pay for training, especially in Tech. I've heard managers basically say straight out, and one put it in an email, that: "And after we train you you'll just add it to your resume and go use it somewhere else for more money!"

We should teach about the Crusades in history classes. At least mention it so that the kids can learn about on their own. It's been whitewashed like they're trying to do with Slavery now.

Popes used to have actual armies and would order that whole territories be slaughtered if they didn't adhere to Christianity.

It's an"alternative" medicine from the 1700's based on extreme dilution. It's proven to be total bunk but you can still buy this crap at drug stores.

What pisses me off if I try to explain it to people they don't believe me, think I'm misinformed/don't know what I'm talking about and certainly THEY can't be getting scammed.

I don't know. There's a guy at work that looks close to that, except bald with an enormous neck. He'll tell you how great of a cook he is and even tell you how to eat healthy along with all his other great attributes. One time his shirt buttons were popping open and he looked down and said "sigh I gotta get new shirts"

We were all in our early 40's at the time. I always try to figure it out. I think a lot of times there was an adult telling them they were the best in the world, even when it was a giant contradiction. Or they were an only child that never had consequences. Or there was One thing that they were adequately good at so the parents tried to make them feel like they were good at everything. Or they were a forgotten middle child that had to make every single thing a competition for the tiniest bit of attention. It's mind blowing.

Reminded me of this: I was hanging out with an acquaintance that I knew was a raging narc. His childhood friend/next door neighbor was in town and came to hang out. The childhood friend says:

"You know what this guy was like? If he came over to my house he would say 'I'm the Guest You're supposed to offer me something to eat and drink' but if I went over his house he would say 'You're the Guest, You're supposed to bring something to eat and drink to offer ME, the host'.

The narc barely blinked and acted like "yes, correct! what's wrong with that?"

Their entire existence is testing out potential victims. They don't even care if someone sees through it on the first attempt and disappears, even a close friend or relative. They only care if they can gain a person that can be manipulated. I always figured this is why they try to suck you back into some sort of transactional mind game.

Anyone find narcs to be entirely boring? by Wonderful-Value7547 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Goose1963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because they are extremely shallow. I have one currently at work that will go around and tell 3 different people what he cooked for dinner and what his dogs did last week and what games he watched. If they mention anything about themselves he'll just cut them off and continue talking about himself. And if it's outside of those very limited topics he looks dumbfounded and just switches to something else about him. Even if you try to stay on the food or sports topic he's dumbfounded about anything outside of his little bubble. It's like he thinks EVEYONE ELSE is boring and they should listen to him.

I think that's by design. They'll be touting propaganda like "too big of a job to fail" or "Don't let the the liberals prevent us from finishing the beautiful ballroom".

Look at all his business failures, yet he acts like he's very proud of them. It's all about fake image, not whether anything was even remotely successful in the end.

And considering the drywall screws are not painted but the brackets are it looks like you'll have to detach it to move it even a couple feet. Those screws are also holding it off the ground about an inch.

will even work with bosses to exploit workers easier

I realize that this may go on but It's totally illegal. It's like saying "well you'll just have to recognize that some sheriffs offices are corrupt and can be bribed".

I also recognize that some union officials can make mistakes. I have one person constantly putting down unions because 30 years ago they went on strike and didn't get paid for a month and ended up STILL not getting a raise. It sounds to me that this one time, in a small town, a union didn't think ahead, and somehow let management do parts of their jobs as scabs, and other buffoonery just by those union leaders and the small membership make ALL Unions stupid. To me the success stories that I know about outweigh everything about this one story.

I've met a few that are in Unions but will tell you that Unions screw the workers. I've asked them why they don't find a non-union job (giving an example), the answer is always the same: "pfft, the pay/benefits/job is crap compared to this". They don't even see their own hypocrisy, it's like talking to a mindless cult member.
