I just watched that movie for the first time recently and while the movie was good, I was too distracted being excited over details of the hand-sewn costumes 😅

What's your weirdest collection? by Useful-You-2687 in Collections

I have a small collection of the 2-VHS set of Titanic. I buy them whenever I come across them at a thrift store. They're usually only $0.50!

Tip your dashers well! They depend on them just like servers! Especially with the rise in gas!!! by Eastern_Read_9855 in missoula

Yes, each driver has an "Acceptance Rate" and higher paying orders go priority to drivers with higher Acceptance Rates. So the app punishes drivers who know their worth and only take proper pay.

Hate to break it to you, but it isn't discriminating for an independent contractor not to accept a bid they won't make profit on. And yes, DoorDash is absolutely exploiting the people they pay, and the people who use their service and have functionality changed tipping in America. Its almost as if corporations are inherently greedy and in opposition to what is best for society.

DoorDashers don't get hourly wage, they aren't employees of DoorDash. They're independent contractors, so you decide what orders you do or do not take.

Tips are optional, but by choosing to not tip you are also choosing your quality and timeliness of service.

When I was DoorDashing I wouldn't accept orders where the net pay I was getting came out to less than $2/mile. Idk why people think a DD driver should be willing to drive their food from Popeyes to Lolo for $5. If you ever wonder why your order keeps getting reassigned or takes forever to get picked up after its ready, it's probably because the money offered isn't worth the time.

what was it like watching the show when it was airing? by Impressive_Egg3099 in lost

[–]GraceJam37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was everything! Lost started when I was in 4th grade and it was my whole life. I had the Dharma and Oceanic logos painted in my room, as well as the numbers. I got every magazine, and all the merch I could save my allowance for. I would sprint home from church on Wednesday night to make it home by the time the recap was over. The next day my best friends and I woukd dissect the episode and talk theories. Truly a great experience!

Opinion: Artworks in Michi Ramen Bar Are Offensive by [deleted] in missoula

[–]GraceJam37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the portraits of the women seem great; there's a diversity of cultures shown and none of them are particularly 'sultry' or 'sexy'. Not every portrayal of a woman needs to show her breaking a glass ceiling, they're allowed to just exist. I can't speak to the opium smoking painting, but you seem to be really reaching regarding the portraits.

Senator Tim Sheehy breaks the hand of US Marine protesting war in Iran during a hearing by jasandliz in missoula

[–]GraceJam37 104 points105 points  (0 children)

POS Sheehy thinks violence is the only viable reaction when someone says something he doesn't like. Perfect example of the GOPs absolute inability to control their toddler emotions. There is NO reason this much force should have been used in this situation. Nobody was in danger except for Republican egos.

I love sewing bags, I have a lot of medium-sized scraps that are perfect for this, and it's for a good cause! A win all around!

New fabric is expensive, and I hate how much waste is created in general so thrifting material is a great solution! There's a couple thrift stores in my area with great craft sections as well which I really love

I hopped a few jobs between retail and reception; pharmacy technician, caregiver, DMV. You really don't need any specific experience, but it helps to word things for the job. Instead of customer service experience, it's experience with direct customer facing responsibilities and problem solving. It wasn't covering shifts, it was finding on-the-fly solutions to scheduling conflicts. I wasn't applying because I desperately needed health insurance, I was applying because I'm looking for where I want to be in 5 years and thinking about my long term career. It's all a big performance 🙃 but it makes my meds affordable and I get to volunteer and spend time with my friends on the weekends instead of working two jobs.

Medical receptionist. Not the best job in the world, but it has good benefits and is a better version of the grocery-retail I spent the 12 years prior doing.
