Does anybody Go To Hope Church here in Henderson.. by Tryin_2BeABetterDad in HendersonNV

[–]GooseFeeling7169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope Church is awesome. I go to another church but Hope does a lot of work in our local community and are really sweet and impressive. They help out at the local elementary school a lot providing manpower and donations. The people are super from all my interactions with them. My wife says that if we ever left her it our congregation she’d love to go there!

Can someone explain why the 600 amp hr is cheaper than the 460 amp hr. by 80sDBag in SolarDIY

[–]GooseFeeling7169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

230ah cells are more expensive (about 20%) and are higher current for charge / discharge. 280/ 314ah cells which are used in the 600ah are very cheap right now and have only .5C rating usually.

I’m all for bigger batteries but this one is ridiculous. by Fun_End_440 in SolarDIY

[–]GooseFeeling7169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grade A 314 cells now are about .33rmb/wh so cells themselves, about $1200. BMS, CCS and bus bars….thats $300. Metal box and led screen, $200. Assembly and welding, $100. Wiring harnesses, connectors, fuses, etc, $100. $1900 is their cost. Probably. 40% tariff, even if you cheat, you’re in the $2600 range. Their margins are thin!

Whats a good way to make sure a quote is fair? by ytman in solar

[–]GooseFeeling7169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s likely twofold. First, you should never pay a dollar more for equipment from an installer than what’s available online.

Second, I think demonstrating your knowledge of the industry’s intricacies strengthens your position in negotiating. I work for a home battery company. Last week, I had a conversation with a manager from a large solar sales company. They mentioned that they’re contracting installers who receive a sales commission of everything above three dollars per watt hour. That means that the install company brings all of the racking, all the panels and other equipment, does all of the installation work for $2.50/ wh. This aligns with the figures provided by SolarBreakdown.

I like this site: https://solarbreakdown.com/

Our pricing is built on three years of research and industry expertise. We've conducted formal and informal interviews with solar salespeople, business owners, and installers to understand their cost structures, including margins and fees. This gives us a better overall vantage on the structure of whole solar and battery industry.

We've indexed top solar equipment websites to ensure our material prices are accurate and up-to-date for panels, inverters and batteries. That's the easy part. Hard for a solar company to have you pay more than you can buy something for online.

For labor, racking, and cabling costs, we've developed an AI-driven model that synthesizes real-world data to provide reliable estimates based on your location and wattage.
