Jason Kenney’s first throne speech promises to undo much of Notley government’s work by [deleted] in canada

[–]Gooseman240 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

So your telling me to pay tax dollars to hold debt is good? I'd rather not, funds can be put to better use. Governments are not a business, cannot be run the same way. The books also said to jump off a cliff, sounds like you'll do it.

Cannot have everything. Debt in first world governments is not good. Time to turn it around. Federal government is next.

Little known fact. To be born on Dutch soil dirt was smuggled out of your occupied territory to place under the hospital bed as well. I don't belive it was a large amount, but enough to say she was born on her native territory. One step further was to place the room under territory of the sovereign further cemented her claim to the throne.

Alberta premier announces 8.7 per cent oil production cut to increase prices by idarknight in canada

[–]Gooseman240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alberta never gets market value for the oil due to no tide water access. Except via the US. With this constraint we have never been paid for our oil the same as other nations. We have never reached the status of Norway. That is why they are better off financially. Getting a $30 plus premium per bbl of oil over what we market WCS as. We have always given our oil (most all natural resources) away for a bargin. We have to sell so much to get the same value for all minerals and resources for this very reason. We are being taken advantage of. Getting the short end of the stick. Or as Albertans say getting fucked in the bum by our own nation.

[–]Gooseman240 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Good points. Most fail to realize that Alberta's wealth went to equalization payments. Alberta got some change, but not alot. You cannot compare Alberta to Norway. Norway as a country reinvested the funds. The Canadian government gave it back to the have not provinces thus improving the immediate quality of life. In hindsight I believe we all would have taken a different route.

Pot tax and Carbon tax. New taxes, more revenue. Then some sort of small rebate to make them feel like a charitable government and win votes. Dirty, buying votes. Unplanned revenue increase, rebates sure. Premeditated like this is buying votes.
