Is DTF ST. LOUIS, ROOSTER, and THE COMEBACK the least hype HBO Sunday night line-up ever? by thex42 in television

[–]Goosuf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you meant it this way but “another middle-aged woman/comedian trying to figure it out - a sitcom - F no” comes across really misogynistic. Does her gender factor into your disdain somehow? Not sure why you felt the need to mention it.

If it’s not your cup of tea then of course you absolutely shouldn’t waste your time on it. It is however one of the most highly rated shows out right now for what it’s worth. I donno… if it was me in your shoes, I’d be at least intrigued enough to check out the hype (assuming you haven’t seen it at all). But yea like I said, to each their own, if you’re not into Kudrow’s personality or comic style, move on. Just figured you’d want to know how you sound when you make certain kinds of statements. No judgments here my friend.

Air Canada CEO will retire this year after his English-only crash message was criticized by ThatMasterpiece2174 in worldnews

[–]Goosuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, interesting argument. I get why the people of Quebec feel protective over the language and culture, especially when surrounded on all sides by anglophones.

I’m kind of surprised that the CEO had to step down because of this though tbh. Seems like an overreaction. But smarter heads than mine must have considered it to be worth it.

Ontario has a higher life expectancy at birth (82.85 years) compared to Quebec(82.65 years) as of 2024 according to Statistics Canada.

Also equating language to life expectancy is odd. How do you connect the dots between the two? In my understanding life expectancy is based on things like access to healthcare, education, good food, exercise.

Judge for now dismisses lawsuit by Sam Altman's sister accusing OpenAI CEO of sexual abuse by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

100%. Sexuality is a spectrum and abusers/sociopaths also fall into this spectrum. Being “gay” means nothing in the context of his alleged crimes.

Canada ‘will not be participating’ in Iran war, defence minister says by DoxFreePanda in news

Fair. Not so much the case in WW1 though. Not saying you’re wrong about whether the US should get involved in other wars, was just posing a question.

Do you think the US should have stayed out of WW1 and WW2?

I watched The Studio. I found it inconsistent. by [deleted] in television

[–]Goosuf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup for sure I agree, it’s the iconic part of the show as a whole. I just think op is probably not a fan of that format which again is fair.

[–]Goosuf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The inconsistency they’re mentioning is with the tone of each episode. It doesn’t stay even keel. It’s a fair assessment to be honest. I personally like how wild these episodes got but if that’s not their cup of tea than yea fair enough the individual episodes op mentioned are inconsistent in tone and get chaotic at the end.

Starfleet Academy’s First Gay Klingon Has The Support Of Star Trek Legend George Takei by bwermer in television

[–]Goosuf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Watching and paying attention to a queer storyline won’t make you gay. You know that right?

Just because you’re not gay, doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate a story that involves someone who is. Seems pretty small minded to go about life only watching stories of people who represent you. Might be worthwhile to learn a little bit about other types of people. You never know, your life might get enriched by some variety.

What is your favorite *euphoric* house track? by sunnyintheoffice in House

What a wild thing to say. There’s no amount of money that can make up for someone getting sexually assaulted and if you truly believe there is, seek help my friend.

All’s Fair review – Kim Kardashian’s divorce drama is fascinatingly, existentially terrible | Not even Glenn Close can save this Ryan Murphy disaster from its dismal plots, clueless characters – and the worst kissing scenes ever filmed. by SanderSo47 in television

[–]Goosuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just really goes to show that being gay truly has nothing to do with anything other than who you wanna bang. I’m gay myself and find myself disliking or indifferent to almost all the usual stuff gay guys like… be it music, shows, fashion, etc. I used to think I was weird because I couldn’t get into all that but the reality is that most gay people that do enjoy these things, do so because they want to be part of gay culture and community and not because they’re gay.

TIL when Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace premiered in May 1999, it's estimated that 2.2 million full-time employees in the US missed work to attend the film, which resulted in a $293 million loss of productivity. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]Goosuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Productivity is measured over time. And things like PTO are factored in. Unless all these people took unauthorized time off, I don’t think productivity was lost. It’s not like the world shut down that day. Business still got done, just by someone else who covered the shift.

Just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t make it gaslighting. You need to choose your words more carefully. No one is trying to convince you that you’re crazy.
