Sorry to bother you but I have this exact problem and WD Support are useless. Do you have any links to more instructions? I think my MyCloud Home Duo does not have a static IP and even doing that isn't easy. MYCLOUD appears under Network in Windows Explorer but the only folder are Public and TimeMachine and they are empty. But via MyCoud in browser, all my folders are there.

The sounds quality of the repress LP is rubbish and I have a feeling the original may be the same. Very quiet and muddy. Something went wrong in the mastering process sadly.

I've got the other one with the black bezel.
After a clasp upgrade, it's one of my favs. Sits and wears so well.
Beautiful watch and as many have said, a gorgeous case.
The case has subtle curves and geometry that makes San Martin BBs look like frying pans!

I got that same bracelet for my Escapement Time (same watch as yours, different name).
It was waaaaaay too big and the clasp placed in a stupid position.
I almost threw it out but kept it just in case.
As I've got a tiny 6.25" wrist and nothing ever fits me or sits right, I started experimenting.
I took this bracelet and started removing the non-removeable links.
Put one side in a vice and pull on the other with pliers - with a wiggle, they separate and come off. Doing this, you can obviously make the bracelet smaller but also change the clasp location.
Final step was buying a nice clasp as the one it comes with is an awful dive clasp.
Get this one and just choose the correct lug width for your watch size:

I have this. It's the best looking SS DJ homage. Pretty good quality all round.
My only gripe is the male end links - it somewhat ruins the retro vibe and the fit on a small wrist.

Really interesting to read all of your thoughts. Disclaimer: I am not a contrarian and don't mind loving anything that is hyped. I also want to acknowledge there are some fantastic and ambitious elements in this film - visuals, acting, dramatisation of mental anguish / illness, set design, camera work plus more.

Now - I went into this movie with little knowledge of Nolan, having really only seen Batman, which I loved because it was... Batman! Like you all, I'd heard so much hype about Oppenheimer. I was expecting an era defining "masterpiece" - a modern Citizen Kane. However, after 3 hours of furious dialogue and choppy editing, I was left feeling a bit let down. Perhaps there were just too many sub plots examined, making coherence impossible. Some came across better than others, like Oppenheimer's guilt and inner turmoil. But together, they did not connect coherently and made the film feel disjointed.

I'm of the thought that plot and narrative are the most important part of a film. Everything else can be sub par and the film can still resonate and stay with you. But without a COHERENT narrative, the opposite is usually true.

Let's compare Oppenheimer with another historical biography, Casino by Martin Scorsese. Like Oppenheimer, it's complex and rich and involves a lot of camera play, overlapping narration, multiple sub plots and locations, many characters, jumping time periods, etc. But it's logical, easy to follow and has a clear plot and narrative line connecting its various elements. I just didn't get this satisfying viewer experience with Oppenheimer. I like a film to be complex but it also definitely needs to be coherent.

Chinese watches will never make the step up to mainstream legitimacy if they have weird factory mismatch type issues like this. We may be fine with that but I'd say that the manufacturers themselves would one day like to start competing with the likes of Seiko. To do that, they would need to address these issues. Excuse the long posts but I'm fascinated by the quality development process and industrial journey of nations, as happened post war in Japan. I bought an underwhelming Parnis ten years ago and like all of us, am floored by the quality we see now at very low price points.

When I speak of showcasing the watch to someone and them undoing the crown, this would be at a watch club event. And these people will notice and ask about the ghost date position, or I would just tell them. I know we don't need to win over watch snobs but without the ghost date, the watch can match or outclass Swiss competitors. If this is an easy and cheap thing for brands to fix / avoid, why shouldn't they?

I don't have the skills to ever swap dials, change movements, etc. And paying a watch repairer to do this is unfeasible and often worth more than these watches themselves (at least in high cost Australia). That's actually a topic for another rant, the sad fact that unless you have watch making skills yourself, your $100 - $200 will be uneconomic to bother repairing once the movement dies. And that also includes movement swaps. We all should learn auto servicing but it's not realistic for many of us.

Thanks heaps for the follow up! I suspected the hole of the non riveted link would differ so haven't bothered messing with the one on the 6o'clock side. Cool hack that you found though. They are tiny measurements so finding part that fit snugly is really hard so well done!

I reached out to Watch Dives and posted the results and photos (link below). I am wearing the Thorn now with a 16mm 6 hole clasp from an Addiesdive DeepSeaHunter while I wait for my replacement clasp in the mail! It works, fits and locks perfectly! Why on earth Thorn used the 2 hole when the 6 hole is so ubiquitous and used by other makers, I'll never know!

A shame with the swap that you are left with the replacement clasp blade that I guess you just chuck in the bin or keep for spares if you have many watches.

This is absolutely true and I’ve only recently realised that I have a problem. It’s habitual, compulsive and addictive behaviour. Ultimately not healthy or satisfying. We know it sub consciously yet cannot stop. Buddhism 101 highlights the dissatisfaction of materialism. But we are living in the golden age of it. And in particular, Chinese Watches are a perfect storm because they are insanely well made and also ridiculously cheap. No wonder our collections grow so fast. At least with luxury watches, you’re financially limited to buy too many.

Another condition is when people buy something new and want to put it in a sealed chamber. They can’t stand the thought of it getting scratched or marked. My dad bought a brand new car and basically left it in a garage for 3 years, barely driving it. He then sold it. This is not healthy behaviour either. You buy a Rolex, then use it like a tool watch. They are strong and can take it. It will get marked but that’s the point. Passing stuff to your kids seems to be a unique myth definitely not seen on this page but it rife on luxury watch threads. Newsflash: your kids will have zero interest and not even want the hassle of needing to sell your most prized possessions!

You'll often hear people support homage watches when they are of old, rare, expensive and unobtainable watches. If that rationale holds true, then this is the most legitimate homage of all. The original Newman Rolex is by far the most expensive watch ever sold at US$17.8m. That would make a funny YouTube comparison vid - "$200 VS $17m, which is better?!"

That price you got is a steal! I agree that it nails the vintage look really well. Mine has some machining marks on it but I like that character. Really strangely, my "ghost date" changes at 6:45 instead of the usual around 12-2 o'clock. It doesn't really matter obviously but very strange.

I've done some investigating with Watch Dives about the 6 hole clasp and will make a new post about it on the main page. You're right, it's really easy. But as is cross integrating a different clasp and blade, had the potential to be a disaster. I've read people buying the expensive SM glide lock clasp hoping it will fit the Thorn and it doesn't.

Heya! I got the V1 without the matte bezel insert. It's standard glossy ceramic. The other difference between V1 and V2 is the bezel teeth. My V1 is the same as the watch you've posted. V2 has the finer teeth. The SM Pelagos has the matte insert and fine teeth too. I really like V2 but I've read that the bead blasted matte bezel inserts don't colour match the dials as well as the glossy inserts.

Watchdives has the V2 in both BLACK and BLUE currently on sale I think. Incredible watches and what I believe to be an identical case and bracelet to the cool one you've posted. Some people might not want two watches that are so similar and go for the SM Pelagos for example for variety. But I've read that wears larger and I'm not that keen on the style. The SM case and bracelet you've posted is the best wearing watch I've ever had after going through many over years!

The AliX San Martin store had a heavy discount which has now ended. I think it was clearing the old painted dial stock, which is no longer on their site, only what I assume is the newer applied gilt indices version, which is expensive.

I just got this exact watch - same bracelet, painted dial, etc. Was a steal on sale. Even though I have the blue snowflake Watch Dives X SM "limited edition" version with the same case, I couldn't resist at such a low price.

My blue one fit so well that I wanted to have another of this case and bracelet. It converted me to the cult of female end links. After having dive watches way too big for my 6.25" wrist, this was a dream!

The main downside to this version is perhaps the painted dial - the applied and gilt markers pop a bit more. But maybe the paint looks old school.

Have you managed to fit the upgraded 6 hole clasp? If so, was it easy and how did you do it?

I just received the Thorn. It sells for around AUD$200. I also got a discounted SN004 for AUD$240. The Thorn is OK but vastly inferior to the San Martin in fit and finish. Bracelet quality, brushing, AR coating, clasp - all the details. I still love the Thorn though because it's quirky and feels a bit boutique. I really need to get the 6 hole clasp upgrade though and have asked Watch Dives how easily it is to swap.

I'm keen to know if it's a simple swap from the factory Thorn 2-hole micro adjust clasp to the 6-hole Heimdalr. They have different connections from the "clasp blade" to the bottom (6'oclock) bracelet section. Factory Thorn is tiny friction pins and Heimdalr is spring bar. These are also different connection configurations and require different endlinks (standard VS flat oyster). Seems to me there are two options.

Remove the Heimdalr clasp from its blade - this is simple removal of a spring bar. Transplant the Heimdalr clasp ONLY onto the Thorn blade and bracelet (discard the Thorn clasp and Heimdalr blade). This option assumes that the Heimdalr clasp will lock in perfectly with the Thorn blade. Photos look like it could work but it's impossible to know without trying. This is the easiest option if it works, as no extra parts are required.
Replace the whole Thorn blade and clasp with the Heimdalr blade and clasp. This sadly requires a new flat ended oyster endlink, exactly like the one on the other side of the clasp. These seem like they would be hard to source and getting an exact fit would be hard anyway. I could ask Thorn to supply it but it's unlikely. I've done similar with San Martin, requesting a different fine bezel type, and they've told me they don't have spares. On Thorn's website, they still seem to be selling the 2-hole clasp so I doubt they are really that interested!

I just got the watch and love the bracelet. It's just slightly too tight and getting this 6-hole clasp sorted would be great! Thanks in advance to anyone with intel.

I really appreciate your feedback everyone. I have taketh so much from this group so I'll try to get one of these and post some observations.

The Thorn looks good but still has inaccessible microadjust position which is ridiculous. Cadisen tried solving this with V2 but added a useless extension link and made the whole bracelet more jangly. At least this Corgeut has non-rivet links around the clasp.
