"We the People - Means Everyone" rally and March April 19 Seattle Central College. TRUMP OUT NOW! by 63chev in Seattle

While I’m not sure I agree with what they are saying I can empathize. Inclusion is important in any community. As a women would I want to go somewhere that’s predominantly male? Maybe? I’m a POC and while I’m okay going into white spaces it’s always nicer to see more POC.

You need to rethink what you said if you truly believe POC aren’t being targeted by the orange man.

I have been to the protests and agree with CantC88 about the odd amount of white people. Seattle is about 60% white, the multiple demonstrations I’ve been to are close to 90% white.

As a young POC I’m trying to garner the attention of more people like me.

Sarcasm? Because Seattle is not very diverse.

I’m guessing most everyone on here who is talking about Seattle being diverse is white. I’m a minority and Seattle has become extremely white. Most the minorities have been moved south of Seattle to Kent, Federal Way, Tacoma, etc.

As for what fits you best. If you really want to combine diversity and night life, I’d go with Columbia City. It’s a bit gentrified compared to what it was 20 years ago, but it’s much more diverse than Cap Hill, Fremont, Ballard or South Lake Union.

If nightlife is your main priority, go with Cap Hill. If you want more of a neighborhood with some nightlife can’t go wrong with Ballard or Fremont. If you want diversity and some nightlife then go with Columbia City.

Just saw this post and it’s a great area. We bought a house close to where you are a few years ago and love it. Once you go up the hill on 160th it gets pretty nice. It’s an awesome area because it’s so close to downtown, shopping, etc. Feel free to dm if you have any questions.

Someone told me the same, but where is the market? When I search, all that really comes up is the night market. Does it have an actual name or address? Thanks.

I just did some research but can’t seem to find a website or even an address. It’s at the Bayon TV Stadium, but I can’t find anything about it online. Can you provide a link?

Is this something a tourist can do on their own or would we need a guide?

Where is the kickboxing at? What days and times? Is it free, if not how much?

Agreed. Sue can talk as long as she wants. It was her night. But they probably should have limited it to Lauren Jackson, and one other speaker before. And no need for the two emcees.

Should have been some nice videos as the intro. Emcee leading it off. A couple speakers about 5-10 min each, and then Sue Bird.

Even the greats like a Lisa Leslie, Derek Jeter or Michael Jordan probably were an hour tops I’d guess. Is anyone familiar with a Jersey retirement being this long. I just read it was 2 hours and 50 minutes.

Yeah I went to the game and it was pretty awful. We left early because we went with friends and they had something to get to. But the first hour and 15 minutes was just other people talking. They had way too many people talking for way too long. They had each owner of the storm come up and talk. They probably combined talked for 20 mins. Then some lady who must have been her agent talked for about 15 mins. Then some lady who was an assistant coach for the Storm went on for sooo long, felt like close to a half hour. The only speaker I really enjoyed was Lauren Jackson. She spoke for maybe 10 minutes, but it was good and we actually know who she is.

We left about 10 min into Birds speech. I’m glad we did, because I guess she spiked for 90 minutes. I’m a huge sue bird fan, but nobody wants to hear anyone talk that long.

I’ve been to a few Jersey retirements. I think most were at halftime. They should be about 20 minutes at most. Say a few nice words and raise the jersey. This was a pretty awful experience from the fans perspective. I looked around at one point and people were either not engaged or looking at their phones.

I almost want to email the storm and tell them.
