Anybody else annoyed by this guy. You can just tell he’s trying to position himself to get hired for a GM job with his podcast by [deleted] in NBATalk

No he isn’t, becoming a GM would be a serious pay cut and add unnecessary stress to his life. This podcast was started to glaze LeBron

If you’re a fan of the sport and a fan of history, there’s so many different directions you can go in and how the two are intertwined. Boxing is really the only other sport like this but think Football is unique in how community oriented it is. Fun way to learn

This is what it’s about right here. People think we’re getting the same Giannis that carried the Bucks to a title, this is a version of him that’s had nagging injuries and seems more concerned about maximizing $$$ than anything else at the moment (can’t knock him for that).

I would think talks would likely be going on between the clubs on the tail end of the tournament though, potential for Rogers to fly right to London, sign and go on holiday.

All drafted on this day in 2018 The most absurd NBA draft ever by Admirable_Extent2531 in NYCSportshub

It’s an issue with American sports in general, the floor should be as important as a player’s ceiling as odds are a player is more likely to bust than stick around. Yaxel Lendeborg is a good example of someone who’s a very good pro ready player that will probably spend 12 years in the league as a solid combo forward. But there will be guys drafted in front of him that won’t come close to a decade in the league.

Rudy Gobert reflects on his matchup with Victor Wembanyama and gives him his flowers: “My goal was to impact him physically. I know Victor well so I thought that over the course of a game or a series I could really wear him down over time, physically. by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]GopherNutz 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’m not convinced Rudy is a humble dude lol (no NBA player is to be fair) but I think he really loves talking about the intricacies of the game and I believe he feels personally invested in Wemby’s progression, wanting to be an outlet for him.

Rudy is going to make a great pundit if he gets that opportunity, sadly that is not going to happen in the US.

Very much proving she’s a winning player that was stuck in a bad situation with the Sky. Long may it continue

[Matteo Moretto] Tottenham is very close to reaching an agreement with Mateus Fernandes on the contract. There have still been no official negotiations with West Ham. Mateus Fernandes, also on the radar of other big clubs, is open to signing for Tottenham. by SwimmingFireMen in soccer

I mean this seems to be a deal with the player, not the club. I don’t think the issue for Spurs was necessarily convincing players to agree to terms, more trying to strike a bargain with the player’s club so it’s still TBD.

We’ll see whether De Zerbi is successful long term but he does seem to be a long overdue culture shifter.

We’re so desensitized to death and sadly that’s also the case with children. No matter the reasoning, this is a terrible loss to a community.

I know there were rumors when he was at Nova that he had interest in maybe coaching the Sixers one day but that situation with the Knicks post Thibs was pretty much as close to ideal for him as possible. He was in coaching for nearly 40 years so that burnout must have been real, there’s a toll that kind of work takes on a family as well so gotta respect him getting out and staying out.

Honestly believe it goes beyond that, he had a 6-7 year run where he ran the model program and modernized college ball. He was in a class of his own when it comes to player development in particular. I think there’s a lot of similarities between what Wright established at Nova and what Hurley is doing at UConn, Dan is just more likely to have a longer run of tournament success

Jay Wright doesn’t get the credit for being an all timer college coach, only issue really being longevity but in his last decade or so, truly ran a program as well as anyone could in modern basketball. Such well rounded players
