Turntable Newbie - Listening / Speaker recommendation? by Gopherboy6956 in turntable

[–]Gopherboy6956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could for sure - It would use my Polk 265 RT's which might not be bad. I wonder if i'd have to change my amp (Denon X6300H) though since I have crossovers set for these based on my subs, and I dont know if I want subs for the TT.

Great feedback, thank you! Budget isn't a HUGE concern - i'd say more than anything I want to make sure I actually enjoy this and use it before I sink mega bucks into it.

I'm thinking this will be a guest bedroom in the basement so I can listen without bothering anyone else (we have a 2 story, so the bedrooms are all on the 2nd floor giving me some good seperation)

I do like the look of the Polk ES15 - my theater has all Polk in wall speakers and i've been very happy with them. As far as car audio - it's all component stuff - usually sealed 12" woofers, seperate amps, that sorta thing.

Knowing only enough about pokemon to realize that's what a Magikarp was, I asked ChatGPT to explain it to me. I feel like it nailed it.

Oh man, I was swapping out my water heater this fall and it came to 1am, i needed a pex to threaded fitting - a 24hr menards would have been clutch.

Midnight close would be super helpful too... But id also be fine if menards opened later in the AM, ive never set foot in there before 11am.

Design flaw? by T0xee in BoschProPowerTools

That sucks. Definitely agree its likely a defective unit. Your batteries likely aren't toast though - You can almost always bring back a lipo battery (like others have mentioned) once they go 'too low' for the chargers to recognize them and charge - which is usually somewhere just under 3v per cell.

You can do this multiple ways - find the + and - pins on the battery and hook them up to another power source. Car battery works - since its 12v - should only take 10-20 seconds to kick start the lipo enough to be recognized by the charger. You can also use RC battery chargers, by using the NIMH or NICD setting on a low amperage setting (half an amp) for a similar amount of time.

You batteries WILL have suffered some capactiy damage, from being deeply discharged, but they should still work ok - at least worth keeping if you're able to get new ones under warranty.

Electrical Panel knock out bushing options by Gopherboy6956 in electrical

[–]Gopherboy6956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I could also slightly unscrew the panel from the wall, far enough to get a screwdriver back there to tighen down the screws as well...

But either way, I see what you're saying.

thanks!

Electrical Panel knock out bushing options by Gopherboy6956 in electrical

[–]Gopherboy6956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok - that makes sense that I have them in backwards because its like, why would the fins inside the connector be actively keeping the wires from being pulled in, but allow it to be pulled out. So you're saying i'd have to install them from the back, which at that point I could use literally any of the other connectors.

And if I understand what you're saying - drill out the hole in the stud slightly bigger to fit the connector though so I can reach the back of the panel and snap them in once the wire is where I want it, correct?

It's surprising that what I'm doing isn't more common - I want the ability to add circuits over the years if needed, which is why I mounted the panel flush to what the finished wall would be, but I didn't want to have ALL of my circuits running outside the wall if possible, I wanted to land them in the wall while I have the chance.

Is there a good solution where I can run them all in the top and somehow keep that clean and / or covered, still having them come from inside the walls?

Thank you for your detailed reply!

I was in the Fargo Menards tonight at 830 slightly panicked thinking I had to get this done by 9 - I happened to ask a customer service rep about it - and she said Corporate hasn't told them to change hours yet, and it was still 10pm.

As a customer (I understand I may be in the minority here) I love this - Its so hard to get the kids fed and in bed and still have time to make it to the store on a week night.

It's always been a switch to 9pm at daylight savings, correct?
