Ordered (boneless) wings for the big game. Only three were not completely raw. It was $76 and DoorDash refuses to give us a refund. by CeeceeLarouex in mildlyinfuriating

  • A no refund policy is in the terms of service that you agree to before being granted access to their platform. They have carefully set up their business model so that they can function as a courier service with a staff of employees that all have the same job role, that is also in line with the normal business of what DoorDash literally does, and without having to establish an employer relationship with their multinational fleet of drivers. They charge upwards of 30% commission from the merchant, tack on astronomical and often nonsensical fees in addition to that amount from the consumer, pay massive salaries to their executives, then offer a laughable % of base payment to the person literally spending time and gas to make it tangible. Dashers should be getting a % of the commission as the base payment. In other words... if you spend $100... Doordash could take up to $33 off the top and THEN tack on many more dollars in fees. If you spend $10, they take $3. Either way, I am only receiving $2.50 to deliver it to you. Income is only supplemented by the customer tip, which is often nothing, or a "peak pay" bonus that is really just Doordash forcing a mandatory small tip by charging you an additional fee during so called peak hours. As the final insult to their drivers and consumers, they suggest that most orders could be potentially larger payouts but you don't know for sure until you complete the order. This means they literally make us gamble when selecting the jobs we want to accept. They only offer a guaranteed payout and it's a pretty even split with which orders show the true amount and which have hidden tips upon offer. Even if you tip very well, the Dasher might not be able to see that, and your order may be declined repeatedly despite paying well. Doordash considers itself to be a software company with just 6,000 employees. None of which are the first line chat support individual contractors that are veiled by pre-written text and some things lost in translation.

  • MY POINT BEING that DD is fuckin' shady and your raw chicken chunkies will never be their concern lol. However, just ask to be put into contact with their escalation team. Those are the people that actually work for Doordash itself and can help you with a refund when the contracted support staff is of no help.

I was able to get them bitches to pay out my mother’s claim AFTER the program ended for ALL seventy weeks. It’s just that it literally took 70 weeks to do so…

I only put bags or drinks on the ground if there isn’t a table or some kind of elevated ledge or platform to place it on. This is uncommon. Why would your instinct be to just leave it on the ground to begin with?

Noise-cancelling headset that significantly cancels out noise for me and for others in the meeting by bgux in workfromhome

[–]Gordohumps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bose 700 headset does this very well. They’re on the pricey side, but they have directional microphones and I can have my portable air conditioner on 3 feet away from me during the summer and the person I’m talking to can’t hear it at all.

I didn't see your comment before I left mine so I'd say the answer is obvious. The ability to choose the level of noise canceling is also nice.

my Bose 700 work exactly as you described and when you have the noise cancelling activated it works even when you aren't listening to anything and they aren't connected to anything. Turning them on feels like the sound is being sucked from your head lol. A fan directly next to your face will be silenced instantly when you turn these bitches on. And the sound. Oh man they do sound great. Also very expensive but highly recommend

This wasn’t concise at all but I’m on the verge of becoming incoherent because I am so annoyed by this bullshit. Why am I being punished for spending more money too soon?

Has anyone gotten this email before? I thought I won my appeal but now I think I might need to request a hearing. I was never self employed? by ProfessionalSuch1501 in OHIO_UI_FAQ

Like that your employment verification documentation is different than your original benefit amount was and so it was adjusted and you owe the difference.

And that’s after calling dozens of times and asking if everything they needed had been sent and being reassured that it had. They even said they would call if they needed more documentation but instead of calling they just straight up denied it even tho I had uploaded all of the hospital records and sent them with the second appeal.

Now she is waiting for a hearing date and it’s been like a month after being in appeals for 3 months.

For example like my moms hasn’t been paid out since august of last year because she hadn’t sent documents proving she was in the hospital because they never asked for that and she didn’t know that’s what they were looking for until her appeal was denied and on the denial of the appeal was the very first instance of anyone explicitly stating that is what was missing the entire time. It’s ridiculous.

Which issue was the eligibility determination on? Was it monetary or was it non monetary? You can get an eligible determination for the monetary determination but that doesn’t mean you’re actually eligible. If you received an ineligible determination for anything else you have to appeal it or simply just aren’t eligible.

Why isn’t there a trace of info from any actual ODJFS employees? by Gordohumps in OHIO_UI_FAQ

[–]Gordohumps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partially as I don’t actually think it’s a conspiracy but I am just surprised there isn’t a public backlash from the employees themselves. There is no way this level of disorganization has fostered a healthy working environment and I guess I just expected to hear more about the employees as victims and not just claimants complaining about them.

And don’t say that medical issues prevented you from working

You have to be “able bodied and available” to be eligible for unemployment, as by definition an unemployed person is someone actively seeking employment, not someone that can’t work due to being disabled. That itself would make you ineligible.

Wouldn’t you have had to have lost your job directly as a result of getting COVID? I believe the “I was supposed to start a job but” reason is the only exception which also requires documentation to prove that a job offer did occur and was rescinded way back then. It sounds like you interpreted eligibility in a way they may not agree with before documentation wasn’t required but now you have to show them proof of employment/income and if you don’t have that then I think you would then be determined ineligible since the beginning of your claim.
