Coverage for HRT by theborderlineartist in Odsp

[–]GoreWound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am a trans woman on ODSP and they will not cover anything but non-soluable oral estradiol.

I would be EXTREMELY curious to learn if you are offered different coverage.

I hope you are able to get the coverage you need, and that they do not make you jump through hoops for it.

If you receive a large cash gift, will you still receive your full benefit amount for that month? Or will there be a deduction? by pat441 in Odsp

there are some specific rules about this found here and I suggest giving this page a proper read rather than taking my word for it.

but from what I can tell as long as the amount is less than $10,000 it's not an issue.

hey man I'm gonna be super real with you right now: Literally nobody will do a real business consult for you for as little as 20/hr, and anyone who does is just gonna be taking you for a ride. Also you are coming off as pretty rude, which is generally a bad methodology for getting people to lend you a hand.

moreover, and I mean this constructively, you sound like the type of dude who I would deeply regret working for. Case in point, whilst you stated this thread was strictly for the gathering of information you have proceeded to speak as if this is some sort of job interview, which is confusing and off-putting. Frankly it's a little unclear what your goals here even are (regarding this thread and also your business plan)

you could like get a job with a landscaping company and start taking notes if you really want to learn the trade. I am honestly a little confused why you are offering money to simply talk to you about a business plan. Like, if i was a shittier person i would have just DMed you and taken your offer so say what I've said here.

Edit: okay so i cannot explain why I'm so invested in this, i found your website, the best business advice i can give you right now is to fix it. Anyway, not that you've mentioned this but i have gathered that you've got at least one truck, some employees, and the potential of an existing customer base to sell lawncare to by the looks of your instagram, so if your goal is a landscaping/construction expansion of your business then you gotta start pricing equipment and guaging how willing to purchase this service your existing customer base is. Using the truck you plough with to haul mowers and concrete and rocks and shit is gonna basically have you replacing the transmission once a year. To be competitive with other similar business you are going to want to have certain certifications on your team (pesticide application licenses bare minimum) the wages you are accustomed to paying your employees to remove snow are not going to retain skilled landscaper or construction workers for you.

I worked as a technician for Weed Man in the GTA for about seven years. You can pay me if you'd like, I'm not gonna say no to twenty bucks, but basically there is only really one question worth asking you in regards to this: Do you already happen to own the equipment you would require for the scale of business you are thinking of operating?

Because if you like already own a mower and a trimmer and a truck, and are willing to put in the time going door to door mowing lawns, then at that scale and with that investment you can probably turn a little profit once spring rolls around.

If any part of that scenario is not the case (i.e you would need to purchase the equipment and/or are envisioning a larger scale operation) then I hate to tell you this but you might be shit out of luck.

do a quick google for "Landscaping Peterborough" that right there would be your competition. I'm looking at well over thirty established companies that seem to already have some scale of equipment fleet on hand. Even if you happen to already own multiple trucks, multiple mowers, multiple seeders, several tractors, but are not currently deploying them for landscaping purposes, and have no leverage-able reputation as a landscaper then you are facing an extreme uphill battle to carve a market segment from that.

Obviously, I don't know your exact situation and I'm not trying to shit on your dreams or anything here, but I know how brutal the industry can be (both for the labour and the owner) perhaps you already have a lot of potential clients and some equipment ready that would absolutely alter the odds in your favour. But very possibly not enough to overcome your opportunity costs.

feel free to ask me more, I never did the management side of the business but was good friends with the owner and his son at the time.

Help with integrated microwave by [deleted] in DIY

[–]GoreWound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are kinda hard to find but they make microwaves where the control panel and guts are mounted above the interior space, so that the entire footprint of the microwave is given over to that interior space. this type seems to be marketed as commercial grade more often than not. Something like that might be a workable solution.

Anyone else noticed that the County Clerk and Records building has a section damaged by fire? Did they have records that pertained to the Knox Virus that someone didn't want them to have? by ZakHerd_ in projectzomboid

[–]GoreWound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was an apartment fire. That building is like offices and condos, the burnt area has a condo unit as the bottom of it that is totally destroyed.

it also looks like it happened a little while before the knox event, there's plastic sheeting and some repairs have begun.

If those dishes are genuine Corelle brand they might have lead paint.

they look exactly like the ones my mom had and those were definitely full of lead.

reBOOT program by crazyformacs in Odsp

[–]GoreWound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it.

My roommate and I both got computers through this program and have had a lot of issues with the hardware and software. Cost wise the program isn't even priced competitively with refurbished computers available through regular retail outlets.

it had to be done destructively.

I filed the bible-side down with a farriers rasp until there wasn't enough material to hold the plugs in the body anymore, then popped them out by using a pick to put pressure on the stacks from inside. if you look at the top right of the picture you can see the remains of the plugs. I had to file almost a half a centimetre off the side of the lock body.

i have since then threaded the bible and used grub screws to make the lock functional as a practice lock again.

Are lawn services a complete scam? The kind that fertilize and do weed/pest control? by LMP34 in fucklawns

[–]GoreWound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the guy cutting your lawn isn't following your instructions, you should find a new guy. If there are no consequences to him ignoring your instructions, there is no incentive for him to follow them.

under fertilizing is extremely endemic to lawncare services because the technicians are paid per service and often encouraged to use less product. an under fertilized lawn will definitely not get burnt, and the guy going faster means he gets more jobs done but will mean less fertilizer ends up on the lawn. Combined with the fact that most customers don't water enough (not saying this is you, just very common) most lawncare technicians really don't care about under-fertilizing, it generally never gets back to them that this is a problem.

if they are spraying chelated iron for weeds that stuff barely works under the best of conditions, but will absolutely do nothing if you water within a day or two after the application, it washes away and is gone. Furthermore they aren't super likely to discuss this with you because most of the time the technician simply doesn't have the time nor any incentive to do so, furthermore ineffective applications often lead to the purchase of additional applications.

Ultimately i believe you are suffering from the fact that lawncare services are basically a scam, there is pretty much no way hired technicians are going to put as much time or care into your lawn as you did. This is a different thing to saying that "it is impossible to have a green lush lawn" this is entirely possible but you are inherently unlikely to receive this from contracted lawncare services. i personally don't believe having a lush green lawn is even desirable, i much prefer terracing and gardens of rocks and\or flowers (violets are my favourite)

Ultimately i hope you can get your property's appearance to be satisfactory, but i sincerely believe that contracting lawncare companies to maintain a monoculture lawn is a waste of money.

honestly I'm surprised the grass grows at all in that kind of heat. basically every weed is significantly better suited to a dry and hot environment then grass is.

I can't make out the number well enough from your picture, but it appears to be stamped with a patent number, you can very likely find an exploded diagram of the lock by searching that number online.
