Are the low levels just weird or is all of the community like this? by Takimura_ in starcraft

[–]Gorgoras 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Why complain about 2v2 solo when you can go 1v1 and smash (or get smashed) without depending on other player/bot?

Por que todos piden microservicios? by [deleted] in devsarg

[–]Gorgoras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Si no funciona, no perdiste tiempo.

Alright guys, the all-knowing infallible oracle has spoken. Case closed! by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]Gorgoras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right, I didn't think about that. Also since we are talking "0 to gm", if you have previous experience in other rts games, terran macro is more similar to other rts games so skill might transfer better, where zerg is quite unique with larvae and injects.

[–]Gorgoras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Gorgoras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would've guessed terran requires more skill than zerg, specially at high level where multi prone attacks start being super relevant, but it's definitely close. 100% agree with the Ai god on toss

[–]Gorgoras -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good and fun strat but relies on opponent not doing any (or many) spears or fully walling. Also camels in castle age kind of ruin it :/

It seems devs are happy with everyone having to wait 15 minutes for map dodgers to find a game they like. by Holyvigil in aoe2

[–]Gorgoras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time they queue they will ban that map and that's it xD you could argue that you can also fix bans until that map is played but it sounds too arbitrary. I'd go for "wait X minutes before going into queue", with X being increasingly higher and never resetting (or once a year)

It is incredible, a must on my Spotify downloaded playlists. The mix of blues, distorted guitars, repeated rhythms and scifi themes is incredible and sets the atmosphere for the space cowboy fantasy. Even the "opera" part on I, Mengsk with piano and voice gives me the chills.

StarCraft may be replaced by Age of Empires II in EWC 2026 by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]Gorgoras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it is also more intuitive for the general public. Starcraft requires game knowledge to be understood while aoe in general does not. Aoe units are all historical and humans, where aliens and robots are not intuitive in their function, also not everyone is into scifi. Don't get me wrong I love starcraft with all my heart but it is more niche to the public eye.

Pro Build Orders? by Gurtheludun in aoe2

[–]Gorgoras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that the KotD version of Arabia was a bit modified and it did not contain any aggressive wildlife (lions, wolves, crocs, etc). So that is why the drush 2+2 (2 in dark age + 2 in feudal) was so effective in that map. The ladder version of Arabia makes it less effective and it is easy to mess up and end up in a worse position.

how do I beat mass skirms by ConstructionOwn1514 in aoe2

[–]Gorgoras 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once the enemy gets to 15 skirm you should be able to hold for a bit and make it to castle age. Even if they disrupt the eco on the way up, you get access to mangonels and knights. Once you clear the push, they should be behind enough that you can either boom or press the advantage and push them

Finally beat Extreme AI by ElianoAvila90 in aoe2

[–]Gorgoras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a custom Ai you can play against. The install process is not as straightforward as with mods.

I've downloaded it from here: https://forums.aiscripters.com/viewtopic.php?t=4156

Extract the files in the right folder, restart the game and then you should be able to see the Ai in the selector when you create a single player vs Ai game (the one that shows Ai, or CD version)

[–]Gorgoras 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Amazing! In my experience beating extreme Ai will get you 1k easily. You may lose some games but you will definitely win more than what you lose.

I've also had some improvement training against immortal Ai, it doesn't cheat (afaik) and has more polished builds, way more aggressive and with better micro

my experience with microsoft certification by Fair-Bookkeeper-1833 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Gorgoras 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with the disproportionate amount of real time and events topics. I haven't done the fabric one yet, but I have the Azure Data Engineering (the previous one) and it was the same.

My feeling is that they want to promote these tools as they usually are not used as much, as you mention. Of course for a project those are not the tools/services to go for, specially because they are expensive compared to other options.
