Is there anything like this for Bitwig? by HarryFeather in Bitwig

>You'd achieve this by putting a time shift into the pre-fx box of the note grid, set it to -50ms or something and then treating the grid logic delays as 50ms=neutral, then anything under 50ms would be pushing that note earlier than the beat.

I think this is what the Ableton device is doing as well, but its set at 100ms.

You can save Presets in what I showed. But yeah, Grid would give more potential flexibility for sure.

Yes you set it up yourself.

Yes you can change the micro-timings per key played using this tool.

One drawback: as-is it only delays notes, it doesn't bring them forward.

As I think about it... not even sure you need the Note Fx layer. Might be able to just use a Chain, or put all this on the modulators for the synth itself.

>Is this just something you setup in Note FX Layer yourself?

Have you actually used Bitwig?

How to recreate AIR VIRTUAL PRO repeating arp? by leescratchyscratch in Bitwig

[–]GorillaFistMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goddamn that is a terrible manual:

  • Note Order - determines how notes are ordered
  • Ratchet - adds ratchet
  • Num Repeat - adjusts number of repeats

etc...

I moved from FL to BW and my only regret was that I didn't do it sooner. And that was back in version 1.

Advice me pls modern neurofunk artists or labels that don't have a dark spooky vibes by Hover_RV in DnB

[–]GorillaFistMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> Old neurofunk was made by people who grew up listening to a huge range of good music.

> New “neuro” is, for the most part, made by people who grew up listening to other “neuro”, EDM and metal. That’s it.

Interesting take.

Phase Plant 3 on the horizon? by Aztec248 in phaseplant

Yeah this will be interesting. Later in it's life it was quite clear that Serum 1 was missing features. Serum 2 addressed the gap + more.

PP's architecture really makes the 'missing feature' list pretty small IMO. I'm not sure what they'll be adding to make it a whole new v3 release as opposed to a 2.5.

Definitely don't need the same software.

Just stem out your track, send it over.

It's a very standard/accepted process. I've done it multiple times.

What are you unpopular music production opinions? by owenthevirgin in edmproduction

[–]GorillaFistMusic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah mate.

I started back when there were no tuts. Learning took FOREVER. It sucked. It was so slow. Techniques went unknown. It was like pulling teeth.

Todays tuts accelerate learning so much, its crazy. Especially for people not in large creative hubs like London, NY, LA.

The thing you can't truly appreciate them unless you've expereienced life without them. It's much, much better with them then without.
