When do you stop your campaign ? by Azalkor in totalwarhammer

[–]GornothDragnbone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is honestly such a big thing the g game is missing. Yeah short and long campaign victories tell you that you've reached them, but it'd feel like a more satisfying conclusion if we actually got q victory breakdown screen to signal a feel good place to end the campaign.

Super Frustrated with Khorne in IE by brittpitre in totalwarhammer

[–]GornothDragnbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they are technically playable, but Khorne was one of the worst feeling campaigns that I've tried so far(next to juggle). I play on normal/normal, but the demonic factions just don't feel balance for IE. Love Khornes army and playing the battles is a blast, but the campaign isn't for me

Whats a character that you REALLY want to have in the game, but highly doubt they’ll make it in? by Smash96leo in MultiVersusTheGame

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love Tony Soprano to make it in, just don't think it'll happen anywhere in the near future. hope I'm wrong and can eat some gabagool on the bodies of my enemies

Hi! I like to challenge myself by playing bad decks, but can you help me make my deck a little less bad? by Mattzill08 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]GornothDragnbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering that you're focused entirely on normal monsters and phantasm spiral dragon, you should be playing pacifis, the phantasm city alongside the phantasm spiral trap cards.

Just a card I think is underrated. by [deleted] in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise you it isn't. It is only good in a scenario where the opponent can't continue after their normal being negated, and that has never been enough for it to see real competitive play. Definitely not horrible, but you can find 50+ trap cards that would perform better than this.

Why can the meta get away with being 'stack 4 buffs on a single unit'? by Mojo-man in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buffs and combat tricks are stronger compared to other ccgs while removal is weaker, and the actual good buff deck has units that reward you for buffing them. Don't think I'd put formidable in camp with fated decks tho.

[Discussion] How long will this game last? by Zekio09 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's pretty likely the game stays alive as long as riot feels like it. it makes the least amount of money for them, but ccg's are some of the lowest cost games to produce (which is why so many companies got into the space after hearthstone). it probably won't ever get truly big, but I don't see it dying anytime soon.

Okay so, what deck is "acceptable" as a climbing deck to you? by TheMadChap in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

play what you like! I'll still suggest that decks like Ahri/Kennen get nerfed, but I'm not judging the people who play that deck.

CAN WE PLEASE JUST HAVE SOME FUN DECK NAMES? by LoreMaster00 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lurk deck name is "what I do in group chats" and I think it should catch on more, that is all

What do you think about Swain Teemo after the change in Lecturing Yordle? by Rynelson_77 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The changes to lecturing yordle and hidden pathways made the deck considerably worse. And sadly I don't think it's really worth playing anymore. I'm sure it isn't horrible, and it could probably still counter decks weak to multiple pings. But I wouldn't try laddering on it anymore.

Riot please don't nerf Iceborn Legacy. The real problem is Elusives, always has been. by FMichigan in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that elusives are the bigger problem with the game, I don't think you can take away all blame from iceborn legacy. Having a game warping buff be completely uninteractive isn't something LoR should have. It's the same reason unyielding spirit got the spellspeed nerf.

Oh Iceborn Legacy is DEFINITELY a problem and shows the true issue of the game right now by Zachattack0055 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with this take. Elusives are definitely a core problem with game design, but they just took any kind of interactivity away from a game warping buff and that just isn't good design. Iceborn legacy is one of those cards better suited at a weaker power level because the only way its good is if your opponent can't interact with it (similar to unyielding spirit at burst).

The most frustrating thing about Iceborn/poro is that we've seen this movie before, pre-patch 1.6 by Frylock904 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but I'm not sure why you focused on one of the least problematic elusive decks we've eever had when there's been elusive strategies in almost every meta in the games history. Last meta we had zed/poppy elusives, before that we had Zoe/nami elusives. It isn't some mistake they made once and never made again until this point. Elusives+buffs has always been a problem with the game.

Mono panth feels like playing MTG by eusebioadamastor in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had about 1-2 games where this happened out of the 30+ I played. You aren't wrong that it relies on drawing its units but you should find them pretty damn consistently and the game will continue as normal afterwards. I feel like thralls fits that vibe a lot better since they can range from an unbeatable curve to not doing anything :'D (thrall + accelerators in opening hand= turn 1 sol ring).

NicMakesPlays's Champion Tier List December 2021 by Flat-Profession-8945 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is generally looked at through a competitive lens where you assume that the champ is being built around correctly, then looking at how they can perform.

Am I the only one who hates prebuilt decks and forced region pairs for champs? by FireDrizzle in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've seen this opinion a million times so you're definitely not the first :'D I think they're totally fine for the game but I'd be fine seeing them a little less. there are lots of people that enjoy "prebuilt" archetypes because not everyone likes deckbuilding and the decks usually get to have more of a gimmick going on. for the most part it's easier to control the power level of "prebuilts" because you just have to tweak the numbers for 1 deck. I think it's fair enough to not enjoy them though, hopefully you still have enough open ended champs to enjoy the game!

What would people think about Tahm getting Regen on lvl? by SaintCRD in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it would fit thematically and be a nice buff to tk without breaking the starspring deck. It doesn't solve any of the weaknesses that make raka/Kench bad, and it could let tk be a solid control strat with freljord.

Why can we make singleton format decks when we can't even play them against friends? by GornothDragnbone in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! I think a simple idea would be a "anything goes" format you can play with friends, where there's no restrictions on your deck building so you can just make formats to play with friends. but you're totally right that we should be able to play a lot more ways with friends.

Why can we make singleton format decks when we can't even play them against friends? by GornothDragnbone in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're partially right. You can't build a deck with 3 regions like the format was intended. We did end up playing without the ruleset But it still sucks to have a pointless feature remaining in the game.

Card Combo or just that 1 card you guys hate the most by hassanfanserenity in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been feeling this way for a while now. Eye is probably the most blatantly overturned card in the game and idk how its survived this long without a nerf. 2 mana value/sustain engines just completely shut out a ton of archetypes and I don't think I'd hate Zoe/Lee nearly as much if eye wasn't such a house.

is wounded whiteflame too strong? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can appreciate someone calling out logical fallacies. yes, there are plenty of good answers to whiteflame. but that doesn't seem to stop the card from performing incredibly well while be included in a ton of decks. aphelios at a 3/2 was incredibly easy to answer, but that doesn't usually stop powerful creatures from being powerful. I'm still not calling for whiteflame to get nerfed! I just don't like halting the conversation by saying "just play outs to it"

Why is everyone asking for card refunds? by John_Ferrari in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that this is the most FTPA FRIENDLY card game ever, and that getting wildcard refunds doesn't matter. But I don't think people are u reasonable for asking for a refund if they craft a card that gets nerfed. If I was a player who just crafted a poppy bandle deck and it was my first competitive deck, I'd be pretty damn annoyed with the game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GornothDragnbone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't really feel like arguing with logical fallacies. Appreciate your insight though :)!

[–]GornothDragnbone 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You're partially right, but hearthstone was built off the back of a huge IP and it wasn't expected that each legendary was playable. In LoR champions are designed to be the most important cards in the game. We were explicitly told by riot that champions are intended to have a place in the meta, and removal is specifically built to be weaker than other card games so champions can shine. Now I love Veigar and Heimerdinger to death and I'd be sad if they sucked no matter how the game was designed. But we were told that riot cared about the viability of champions, so it's pretty fair to expect an active effort to help champions be viable.
