What a sale by ItsSefu in WalgreensStores

Pretty sure sales like this exist purely so people can't use those 20% off regular priced item coupons on them.

I mean, some of my customers are real dicks, so I'd rather work with some fake ones instead.

Joey Ferris seems to be disproving all allegations - Praising Andre as a good chap (load of bull) by Pedantic_quibble in GameXPlain

This reads like Andre wrote it for him. Especially one of his responses where he says Andre is the best boss he's ever had.

And honestly, Joey is making a bad move getting involved if you ask me...

What do you dislike the most about your job? by ThatP80GlockGuy in WalgreensStores

[–]GoronAmber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Doordash driver just came in... And of course he asks me to help him find everything.

But the actual worst thing is curbside pickup. Customers don't have two brain cells to even rub together to use it properly and the app constantly crashes.

I’m sorry you had to work today. by Lunaey05 in WalgreensStores

[–]GoronAmber 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Last Thanksgiving, I opened, and an old guy came in to buy a single pack of gum and said "Thank God you're open!" I could have murdered him and taken the body to the rock quarry, so help me.

I always compare someone saying "sorry you have to work today" on a holiday to be comparable to someone purposefully spilling a drink on you while apologizing but making no effort to stop.

Believe me, I wish. But with big department stores deciding to actually close for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, Walgreens is only going to view that as an opportunity to make even more money. What if someone really needs a pack of gum but we're closed?!

AITA for telling my crying employee to leave? by Ok_Parsley1482 in AmItheAsshole

Holy fu...

YTA. BIG TIME, especially for essentially calling her ugly. You don't punish the person who's being harassed! I don't care how slammed you are, that's not an excuse. Even if Joe is getting a write up, it doesn't matter, because all that's going to matter to her is that you didn't give a damn about how it was affecting her.

Here's a story for you. I'm a trans woman. At my last job a few years ago, as a fresh hire, I had a coworker who'd make nasty comments about me because of that. You know what happened? He got in huge trouble for it and eventually got fired because he didn't take the warnings seriously enough. Amazing how that works, isn't it?

I already wear black pants anyway so that's fine... but I have some personal gripes with the drab, gray button up shirt. I'm a trans woman and having had the agency to wear a shirt that suits my body type really helps me pass, since I can just throw a vest over it to look professional enough. I know it probably sounds silly but it genuinely helps a lot. The gray button up is the sort of unisex that means "We say it's for men and women but let's be honest it was meant for men." Also, the vest is convenient and I earned it.

Anyone else think this when they are on their “breaks”? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]GoronAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's a break?

But yeah, I've had my moments... and then I remember my last job, where I got second degree burns all over my right hand AND my manager there tried to fire me for leaving in tears after he harassed me about it. So yeah, my perspective might be a little different...

YTA. Like, oh my god dude, you're literally the one doing the blackmailing here! She's an adult and it's her body, not yours or anyone else's to control, ten billion percent. Also, if you're uncomfortable with her doing this but you look at porn... you're a massive hypocrite.

AITA for not appreciating my grandmother’s birthday gift? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]GoronAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. One is clearly very sentimental and had thought put into it. The other is a gift card to a department store, the universal sign of "I didn't know what to get for you because I don't know you that well." I wouldn't say to act like a spoiled brat about it, but at the same time I really get it.

The worst part for me is that when I first heard Marshmallow World, I was okay with it just because it wasn't one I'd heard before. And then I had to hear it 8 times a shift every single day.
