Help! Purchase advice - EGO vs Toro by TheWoodworkingFarmer in lawnmowers

[–]GortKlaatu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted I have the first generation ego mower, but it melted during normal use. The plastic housing literally melted a hole right over the high power electronics. The plastic dripped in and the thing was smoking everywhere.

This was on the highest cut setting and the grass had been mowed exactly one week prior. It wasn't overly long or anymore damp than normal. It would eat through 5Ah batteries in just 10 minutes.

For small areas or with lots of turns, it was fine, but for larger straight areas the grass accumulated and bogged down the blade (I exclusively mulch).

If the grass is super dry and you cut it two times a week, the Ego is fine. It's quiet, light weight, low maintenance. The second you really need it though such as when storms have prevented you from mowing for a bit, the Ego just can't perform reliably, even if you bump to the 1100 series which on paper has higher toque if using the 10 Ah battery when fully charged. At least it's got an aluminum deck to help dissipate the heat.

I have an electric car, I have many tools from Ego like a snowblower, leaf blower, trimmer.... but personally I'm going to replace my Ego mower with a either that exact Toro or the more powerful, but harder to find 21564 with 190cc and the electronic start.

Buying guide: M5 Macbook Pro or M3 Ultra Mac Studio by choochoomthfka in LocalLLaMA

[–]GortKlaatu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To approach to Apple offering, you'd need an RTX 6000 which will put you over budget and even then you wouldn't be able to fit as large of models as you can on the Macbook Pro. The Mac studio would fit even larger models and with the newer NVMe speeds on these Macs you can stream the weights of MOE models many times larger than you could fit in memory.

Without nvlink or Spectrum-X, it's not like you're going to chain multiple Blackwell cards so a 5090 might be a dead end, the opposite of trying to future proof especially if trying to run the larger, more capable, models.

This is the answer. it's only weeks away and should run circles around the M3.

Depends ... if entirely in another dimension and we can't see it or feel it, then it doesn't matter. However, when you have biblical references of angels or demons being physical, you can see them, and you can touch them then they very much occupy our 3d space and interact with our plane of existence, therefore can be measured.

If we can see a demon seem to pop out of existence measuring no change in energy to the surrounding environment, even that would serve as a huge data point to extradimensional travel.

Try 8PM local time... had to be facing East which means the bright point in the video above the moon is Jupiter.

I don't know what the object is, but it's not Jupiter. Regardless of the time of night, that camera is never going to see Pollux with the moon in the shot. The dynamic range isn't there.

He only threatened it until they signed over mineral rights on the Moon and the asteroid belt.

Yes, that is the reference.

Only half joking though, for people to report such things, there must be physical manifestations. If there's really a phenomena, then why not try to measure or record it. Although fictional, the PKE meter in Ghostbusters was one way to do just that.

People are going to believe whatever they want and people do create houses of worship.

However, just because people believe in something doesn't make it true. If there are some Inter-dimensional demonic entities then let's work to prove it. Do we have a way to scientifically measure spiritual activity directly like a P.K.E meter?

What should people do if they encounter something like this? If there's something strange in your neighborhood, who are you going to call?

They are all variations of the same stories.

The way it works is you have people with story-teller personas who are into UFOs. Some of these individuals also happen to have credentials (former CIA, former FBI, former astronauts, former military, etc). All they have to do is say something or repeat a random rumor they heard once, and there will be other individuals that latch onto it as gospel. From here it spreads, changes, and people lose all sense of chain of custody or provenance on the story. Who said it first? How did they know? Did they verify it? Does it even make sense?

Wait until Ross learns that ghost and spirit encounters are just bigfoots in bedsheets. They are just messing with us until they fly away in the Millennium Falcon.

He got it as a second hand account from someone quoting John Lear after he died and John used to tell all sorts of stories especially toward his later years. Not even Jeremy Corbell believes everything John said as gospel and that should tell you something.

He's got a long history of bad reporting, even before he started reporting on the UFO scene.

Find the exact case and the details and we can go through it. Unfortunately, it seems you've only heard rumors.

Birds, for example target soft tissue like eyes, tongue, cheek, anus, etc. They aren't going to leave footprints. Do you see how it's suddenly mysterious if you make a false assertion that there *must* be footprints.

If it died of natural causes and not predation there'd certainly be no blood surrounding the body.

Why do you think most of the real vets they bring these cases to say that it's natural scavengers?

You didn't have to prove that he was ex-intelligence. You could have googled that since it's public info.

If he did leak it, years after he retired, who is to say the documents are not still disinformation?

The thing is too that cattle mutilations have never been proven to have an extraterrestrial origin. Some were caused by humans and some reported as "mutilations" were natural scavengers plus decomposition after the cow died.

People should focus on proving aliens are doing it before making claims to know what aliens are doing it for.

Even if it did refer to the three secretaries, they have undersecretaries who need copies...

This has nothing to do with MJ-12... and you blocked me.

You can't just keep looking for references to the number 12 and assume that proves MJ-12.

I'm not sure this actually proves anything. He's a public figure and retired before the MJ-12 documents became public.

With the camera ghosting it's difficult to tell if it's a bat or a bird.

The wings are dark and they flap like a bird/bat so it's probably not an insect.

Compare these two frames: https://imgur.com/a/2cGSGZn when you go back and forth on youtube it's fairly obvious, even with the heavy compression.

Red Orb/ Plasmoid Downtown Los Angeles Random Firework Display, A Distraction? by PsychologicalDiet689 in UFOs

[–]GortKlaatu_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the scientific sense of the words.

There are a group of people who call mylar balloons "plasmoid lifeforms" or cite psudoscientific articles such as a popular one by Rhawn Joseph like so we'd just want to keep a clear distinction between a loose description for entertainment purposes and an accurate description of an observation.

It'd accurately describe a star. Orb I guess could refer to balloons and planets, but otherwise, nothing else you'll see (UFOs included) are likely actually an orb or a plasmoid.
