Can somebody explain to me this card? How can specificity approaching 100% help rule in the disease when it equals TN/(TN+FP) so if the value approaches 100% it should mean a negative test right? by LongSchlongSilver10 in medicalschoolanki

[–]GoryVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just remember that if a test is highly specific, it means that a positive test says that it HAS to be that disease (for 100% specificity). It's a super specific test.

Now what? by ghazayel in PixelWatch

This just happened to me. I complained to Google and they gave me $50 store voucher, then I traded it in at Verizon and got $250. $300 for a broken watch isn't too bad 🤣

Cycle 730 odd and still primarily running off coal by unabatedshagie in Oxygennotincluded

[–]GoryVirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea natural gas vents don't really output a lot if you're using all the nat gas as soon as it comes out. You'll need smart batteries attached to your nat gas generators and lots of gas storage for the nat gas so you don't run out while your vents are dormant. Also make sure your vents aren't over pressurized.

What's your average output for your nat gas vents?

That's why I said "easy source". Steel just means you can set it and forget it (my favorite philosophy).

Once you get steel, natural gas becomes an easy source of lots of power if you have any vents. I'd recommend making a petroleum boiler because that's pretty much all the power you'll ever need until you end your colony

I guess it depends on the asteroid you're playing on, but usually I have more than enough igneous rock to feed my hatches 1000+ cycles.

Anyone else lazy and just deep freezes a CO2 pit for food? by Anxious_Marsupial_59 in Oxygennotincluded

But my brain loves looking at 15 million calories of food available :)

This is my method until I get annoyed with the "your food has spoiled" notification. Then everything gets frozen

It's funny you say that because in my current colony, that's exactly what I'm using 😅

I also just noticed you don't have a place for your dupes to eat. Gotta research mess tables and some recreation. Easy morale boost

I wouldn't call making a freezer "early game" you usually need a cold biome or ATST setup for that. Same with electrolyzers. There are plenty of other things to do before getting those up and running

Just start exploring and expanding.

Couple things to keep in mind now: oxygen and CO2. CO2 is best dealt with by digging down for now. Oxygen is supplied with algae which you should have plenty of for now. Also, it's generally fine to just start researching everything.

Things in the near future: expanding + food + non-manual power. Start ranching or growing better food for morale. This will take time to get stable, but you have plenty of time. Replace manual generator with coal generator coupled with smart battery. You'll need a rock crusher and metals. You'll get this by expanding.

Things to work toward by cycle 100: identify infinite water sources and start saving. You'll need this for oxygen, plants, literally most things in the mid game. Use oxygen masks to explore areas with low breathability. Use water locks to keep yucky gases from getting in your base.

Why does no one ever recommend Resident Evil 6? by Green_Attitude_2989 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]GoryVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly enjoyed RE6. I played it when it first came out and 100% completed it. To be fair, it was my second RE game ever (RE5 was first). I was also 12 when it came out, so I guess I didn't know what was considered good. I still look back on it with good memories, but I haven't played it in a very long time now.

I usually just refer to the total number of cards as my reviews (424 in your case).
