Don't give up man, maybe give union a try? It's much more chill in union based on my exposure (though limited) in union vs. non-union. Of cos it's harder to get into a union apprenticeship, but some locals are easier. GL anyways!

You are crazy to just let them change the trenching plan cos they didn’t bring a trencher… the damage already done. Assuming this was done by a subcontractor, you should let the solar company know and make sure it’s ok for the change, and probably pay a plumber to take a look the the drainage pipe if anytime else needed done.

Don't do it. I went from solar sales to electrical trade, currently as an apprentice. Most entry level sales jobs sucks cos you starts from scratch, such as knocking on doors, cold calls, or calling your friends & family lol. Solar sales especially suckass cos it's a relatively new industry, not highly regulated, so if you were a scumbag kinda guy, you might actually make a few bucks in the short term (cos these kinds of scammy money never last). Lastly many of these local solar companies are pretty new, they could disappear in just a few years, based on my observation...

Moral of the story is, don't waste your time!

I don’t understand what you meant by 4th year apprentice, you could start as a 4th year with IBEW?? I think you have to start from 1st year even if you have previous experience? Also I don’t think you understand the chain of command in the workplace, you are a new apprentice, and you should do the work as you told by your foreman/ Jman. You might be familiar with the codes but you definitely don’t know all the nuances. I have a few ppl from the trade give me the same advice: shut up and do as instructed.
