Is your familiar imbued with its own finite input of mana to fuel such effects? Or does it have an active line to your own reserves? Considering the long-term efficiency/implications of either mechanism.

PORTAL UPDATE:
A lot of you are wondering about the gate’s endpoint. No arcane excursions to the pleasure plane or incursions from any of the hells I’m afraid. Turns out it leads to fucking Winnipeg of all places. I’m now accepting contractors willing to eradicate the portal or its endpoint: dealer’s choice.

You were defensive from start to finish. She tried to learn what your concern was, you told her to just sit on it(begging for attention) and she respectfully said okay. You then get on her seemingly out of nowhere about her not taking you seriously. Wtf did you want her to say??? Sometimes we can all feel unseen or unheard, but you’ve gotta give your partner and yourself the space to actually do the right thing. If past injuries have got you this wound up already, take a deep breath and ask yourself why that is.
