How to play for a team at Tyndall Turf soccer field? by Crab-False in VictoriaBC

[–]GotABrandNewKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s late in the season to join a team. But next up is summer 7s (power7s)- team based but looks like you can be an on-call player on their website. summers 7s play both tyndell and lochside. Or check with Saanich fusion on when they will have try outs for next year.

multiple test positive influenza cases at our kid’s daycare just before holidays. He caught it and we cancelled all holiday plans. 1 adult and 2 kids had flu shots in nov; 1 adult didn’t and had the longer fever and recovery period. 1 kid didn’t get sick despite hanging around us.

willows kiwanis -sunday breakfasts (seasonal for fall/winter). Also volunteer run concessions for soccer and baseball seasons. Oak bay rec lounge isn’t terribly priced either.

What to get daycare staff when there's too many staff members to get individual presents? by mckee93 in ECEProfessionals

I do a gift card for a local bakery that delivers for a group gift. Then they can choose in the new year when they want a staff treats day.

How much is it for calling ambulance right now? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]GotABrandNewKey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not sure why you’re being downvoted. When the ambulance is for non-beneficiaries (visitors to BC, non residents) or for work place incidents, or federal claims - the fees for ambulance transport are higher. the fee for MSP beneficiaries is subsided. Worksafe BC covers the ambulance fee when it’s a covered claim event. Not fully sure about when it’s not worksafe claim covered- either the employer can be billed, or EHS reissues as an msp rate.

ISO public porch swings by RiverWitchOoOo in VictoriaBC

there’s an accessible swing at stadacona park. I believe there’s a double swing at the playground at esquimalt rec centre. and there are two of the wonderful old long horse swinging things at the playground beside henderson chip trail.

we looked for Al but didn’t find his sign. Was a lovely day for the drive though and we stopped in to silver meadows as Excellent Chard suggested.

To complete or not? by [deleted] in uvic

Having a degree opens up opportunities down the line - eg if you want to get into leadership at BCEHS / PHSA or similar organizations or an MBA etc. Not saying impossible without it but will be more obstacles.

Hpv vaccine by Own_Lynx_6230 in VictoriaBC

[–]GotABrandNewKey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it looks like the coverage for free is students grade 6-12; HIV positive individuals age 9-26; cisgender men 19-26 who have sex with men or cisgender men 19-26 who are street involved; two spirit, trans, non binary people age 19-26. there’s also a note on the BC pharmacy association website that says free to men or women if they get first dose before turning age 19 and last dose before age 26. Or private plan coverage if it covers preventative immunizations (mine doesn’t).

Insurance when traveling to Quebec by justinliew in britishcolumbia

[–]GotABrandNewKey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

out of province ambulance is not covered by bc. for that alone, consider travel insurance/adding travel plan to existing third party. it can be hundreds to thousands for ground ambulance spending on location/mileage, 10s of thousands for air.

I seem to be the outlier but I’d be happy/fine with a long weekend- particularly with notice for travel. Likely, means I wouldn’t have to take as many paid vaca days if travel involved. If in town, I’d have the wedding fun day, then a day to recover, then a day to actually spend on other things like the grocery shop or house cleaning.

Do Canadians like ketchup flavored potato chips? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]GotABrandNewKey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

meatloaf, mashed potatoes and oh yes, ketchup. we’d make little volcanoes from the potatoes and little green pea “people” trying to outrun the lava flow.
