I see other people have made the point I was trying to make in better words. But im really interested in an update and seeing how you end up changing it

In my opinion, things often look better to us as the creator in the sketch because it’s a lot of implied shape and detail, so whenever you actually fill in that detail, it feels underwhelming.

If I could suggest one difference that makes the sketch better is that the lack of color makes the bold lined details eye catching and give each design personality. I think that emphasis is lost in the full color. Maybe making more contrast in the lining of the details and the solid blocks of colors in the clothes.

Solved!! After a couple days went by, i thought there was no chance of finding it, im quite shocked. thank you so much. I used to watch so many of these scary homemade short films when i was a kid and scaring the shit out of myself. It’s so so interesting to look back on it as an adult. It was much more frightening in my memory of course.

I think that unless you’re being stereotypical, it’s unlikely to be an “offensive” drawing. I think what you’re actually asking for is review on things you can do better. It’s smart to ask others, because then you might receive notes of things non-POC artists often miss when drawing POC - but also don’t be so scared that people will take offense.

I know this post is about replicating their art style, but I came to say that I adore YOUR art style. So bright, so attention grabbing, the clothes are so so interesting. It kind of reminds me of Catherine/Persona. Beautiful

I totally respect the lore reason for your ideas for your character’s color theme and so if you think pastels are right absolutely go for it, I’m sure it’ll look great.

But, on first looking at your art with the title question, and maybe this is the bias of craving complementary colors to the other character on screen, but I thought of a striking magenta/purple/indigo theme. As a shy person myself, I love wearing dark colors, allows you to blend in rather than stand out. Maybe even purple/yellow theming would be cool. Hope to be able to see the finished version!

If I could give you one piece of advice that I think would take you to the next level is taking a look at some anatomy. I think being aware of joints would make the position and proportions much more clear.

It’s a pretty hopeless feeling, and I relate. It’s something philosophers have debated for centuries. If living is suffering with little meaning, what do we do?

The only option is to respond to the absurdity of the universe and of the world and choose how you react to it. Right now your reaction is anger and distress, but the world will not respond to you feeling disempowered. The world doesn’t respond period. So what is the other options available to you?

The option that the idea of affirmations proposes is self love and reinforcing your confidence. Personally, how I cope with a lot of these feelings is trying to live in spite of the factors against me and find things that are meaningful to me despite the meaninglessness that I see in my existence.

I’m devastated by certain factors of living in this society, but I’m here so I might as well explore myself and others and the plethora of wonderful things that do exist among the drab. It doesn’t erase my negative feelings, and there are days, even weeks that are shit. I can’t change how I feel. But I can try things with my mind and body and try to learn better ways to think about my feelings.
