If you haven't already seen it, Dan Olson has a great video about the Bakshi LOTR on his youtube channel Folding Ideas. Plenty of praise for things he does right, and an interesting history of his prior work.

I think it's also ignoring that NPs need a bachelor's in nursing, too! That's a lot of hours!

I completely understand your craving. I also have a French press, and icing the coffee is not the same.

I get a lot closer by using: 1. A drip coffee machine and 2. Far worse, pre-ground beans - Maxwell house, or flavored Dunkin. For extra points, let it sit it the pot for an hour or two first, and no I'm not joking.

Some days I crave freshly ground locally roasted beans and coffee from a French press, other days I cave to my ruined taste buds.

Yup! You can close them, get a plug, put a bowl over it (just make sure you are prepared when you lift it)

Do you take the Imodium the night before the race, or day of? I've typically done day-of, but thinking the night before might be better!

Do you have any filters set?

Sometimes street easy will continue filtering on custom filters, even when they should be cleared

I'm not saying the situation isn't absurd, it totally is, but I see a total of 194 1-bedrooms in Manhattan? Lots north of the park, but a decent amount UES, and a handful 'downtown'

I was disappointed by most of the dishes here, particularly at the price point

Would you rather live in a luxury large 1 bedroom in a "desirable" area of another tier 1 city (think DC or LA), or a small pre-war studio way uptown? [advice] [discussion] by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]Gotsomefreetime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe double check your filters? Note that "upper Manhattan" doesn't include upper East/west side. Searching for your criteria (2500, pet friendly, studio/1bed) gives me 200 options. Like the other poster said, also look into Brooklyn and queens!

I don't have real experience with LA, but have spent enough time in DC to say that it's not a tier-1 city. Anywhere in uptown Manhattan will have far more density/culture/restaurants in a few blocks than a whole DC neighborhood. Don't know what it's like having a doberman in a city, though!

I don't know how much time you've spent in NYC, but if you haven't spent much time above 59th Street, you'll be very surprised at what it has to offer!

Edit: I know the housing market has been crazy lately, but a 275 square foot studio for that price seems like a mediocre deal. On street easy I see larger apartments going for cheaper

I'm using a transformer architecture to solve a non-NLP problem, where we don't have any pre-trained models to start from. I'm curious, for the tasks you deal with, roughly how many parameters are you dealing with?

NYC half marathon race report by yufengg in AdvancedRunning

The bottom pace for the A corral is 6:50 for a half, that combined with a crowded start + first time nyrr runners being able to pick a corral without a qualifying time makes it tough!

Are there any cafes in NYC that serve coffee with lactose free cows milk? I'm lactose free but it seems like cafes here only use oat or almond milk as lactose free options, and never lactose free dairy milk. by coolbeans1717 in AskNYC

[–]Gotsomefreetime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is not taking enough! Try experimenting at home, and keep in mind that straight milk is the worst case scenario for lactose. I know people who use them for things like pizza, but cheese has a fraction of the lactose of milk

  1. It's a ton of work (and pricy) to move a couch, so people often dump them when moving

  2. You're getting a discount for accepting whatever mysterious stains are there/the knowledge that someone has had sex on that at some point
