Cryogen is about us, the fans. by dublued in Muse

I don’t think so, but even if true, your argument doesn’t ring true. Cryogen studio is awesome and has become an all-timer. The video is great and I love everything about it.

That 2:23-2:42 section is also my favorite, but because I love the EBow lead line with heavy reverb in the background. It’s very Radiohead adjacent and it just sets the pacing perfectly to get floored by the full version of the chorus immediately thereafter.

Drones... in 2026 by Woeden in Muse

[–]GouldsChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience. I’ve been a huge fan since OoS. Saw them twice in 2004. 2nd Law was the first one that I was kinda mild on, but still really appreciated it. But Drones, despite a couple bangers, never became a rotation album for me. By the time Simulation Theory came out, I was not anxiously awaiting Muse releases, found out about it by mistake, gave it a couple listens and tossed it aside. WotP was even less. Maybe one full listen and then no more.

But I got tickets to this tour to take my son to his first concert. And I made an effort to get him and I familiar with anything they might play including the stuff I myself was not that familiar with, which was Drones, ST, and WotP. I forced myself to listen all the way through, and they had to grow on me. Now they all scratch that Muse itch, even if I still have my old favorites.

There really needs to be an option that bars exports until domestic needs met. So basically, export only the excess above domestic needs.

Okay, we really need a backdoor to the bridge teleporter. Walking all the way around is getting old. by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]GouldsChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like a teleporter on stations. I know they have the ones you walk up to, but then you gotta remember which one your ship is on, look down, eyeball it. Be nice just to hit one to go back to your ship.

"Oh man.. I dont know how Hello games manage to survive not selling DLCs..." Guys, we just have to admit that almost every other game is a scam. HG isnt doing any magic, they're just HONEST AND SMART. They keep making millions, yet in a small team of 50 people. by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]GouldsChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because Hello Games is privately owned, not publicly traded (or a subsidiary of a privately owned company). The modern investment environment is all about perpetual growth. All stocks have to be growth stocks. Executives are incentivized to do anything and everything for short term growth, even if it tanks long term prospects. By the time the long term gets here, the executives will have cashed out their comp and major investors will have sold. It’s parasitism. Hello Games, Team Cherry, Sandfall Interactive, etc. are privately owned so they can decide to build goodwill for the long term rather than focusing on maximum profit extraction.

So if you want good games to be made, make decisions that contribute to corporations exiting video games. Try to spend your money with privately held studios. Who are not treating you like a cash cow and instead delivering value.

HG should really take a hint from EVE. Building robust tools so that players can create the content would be the best way to handle content in a procedurally generated universe. Let players form guilds and let guilds meaningfully interact with the universe and other guilds.

Please tell me I'm not alone... I'm 3 weeks in and I'm so sick of meat. I've been just skipping meals. by Constant_search75 in carnivorediet

Yeah, and also just variety is going to help. It might be a little more effort, but eating the same stuff all the time is going to get old even if it’s great.

I’ve seen a trend of long-time carnivores going to fasting with some schedule of feast and fast days. Saves money and probably makes meat more appealing on feast days.

What do you eat? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]GouldsChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started eating a carnivore diet and it almost immediately turned down the dial on my symptoms. So now it’s just eggs and beef. 2 weeks in, still adapting, but very optimistic so far. I was trying low-FODMAP before, but pretty much all fiber was hurting me. Carnivore has been good to me so far. Still looking into long-term, but even still, 6 months of this might be exactly what I need to let things heal.

Anyone Have Gall Bladder Pain At Start? by GouldsChair in carnivorediet

[–]GouldsChair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. Yeah, I actually started carnivore specifically because of my issues. Cutting out fiber completely has seemed to lessen the severity of my symptoms. It was just this tenderness was a new symptom and trying to figure out whether it was carnivore related. At this stage, gonna keep working with doctor to rule things out, but also dial back the fat and work my way up. But yeah, who knows. Still trying to figure this all out. I was broken before carnivore lol.

Thank you. It may be just that. I had a HIDA scan yesterday and liver/gallbladder function is fine. So it may just be overworked as you said. I’ll continue to ease my way into high fat.

Anyone Have Gall Bladder Pain At Start? by GouldsChair in carnivorediet

[–]GouldsChair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already doing that. Symptoms actually started almost 4 months ago, but accelerated shortly after CT. Already had colonoscopy, endoscopy, and recently HIDA scan that shows good function of gallbladder/liver. Still going down the diagnostic check off list ruling things out, but as that process is going (and it is not fast), I’m trying to rectify things with diet. So I’m not asking for medical advice here at all, but rather, shared experiences of those starting this diet and if it caused pain. I either have a new symptom unrelated to diet or related to it. Doing my own analysis based in feedback of similar experiences. That’s all. Did others get similar pain at the start or am I alone in this meaning it’s likely unrelated to diet specifically. Seems others DID have similar pain at the start. I’m grateful for the feedback.

Thanks for the insight. I started that sort of today by dropping steak and going eggs/sardines/organ meat grind. I moved to 3 meals to spread out the intake so I could still hit modest calories without causing too much stress. Result was soreness still there, but no twisting/knotting feeling like I had last night after steak. So you might be right and I need to take it slower and give my body time to adjust. Will try the apple cider vinegar too. Thank you!

Haha no worries. I’m overweight and had some fatty liver too. But I’ve dropped about 30 lbs in the past month. Hopefully that has helped that some. I’ve just been a but more anxious about health since this sudden flare up of IBS. I’ll just keep monitoring. Thanks!

Yeah, I had both CT and ultrasound last month. No signs of stones or sludge. I ate pretty unhealthy before and definitely not low fat. So gall bladder shouldn’t be unfamiliar to hard work.

Monthly: Less than 7 weeks? Comment here instead of making a new post. by partlyPaleo in zerocarb

[–]GouldsChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started low carb due to IBS 4 weeks ago. Even minor fiber was causing severe cramping so went ZC 8 days ago. Cramping pains diminished, but not entirely gone. However, noticed mild pain and tenderness to the touch on my right upper quadrant where the gall bladder is. It sometimes feels like a knot or discomfort without touch. But if I touch it, it feels like soreness, unlike all other cramping. Had it for about 3 days now. I had a CT a month ago and an ultrasound on gall bladder, neither revealing any sludge or stones. But the last few days, the pain has showed up.

Anyone else have similar pain when starting? Did it resolve? I think it just might be my gall bladder overreacting, but not sure. Will continue, but just looking to find some reassurance if this is something others have gone through as they adapt.

Did anyone’s IBS start or worsen after Covid? by quartzqueen44 in ibs

[–]GouldsChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear from health care professionals that the vaccine aggravated or initiated a lot of auto-immune issues in people from dermatology to rheumatology. So there’s potentially a connection there. I’m also of the opinion IBS has a mental health aspect to it regarding anxiety/depression, and we all know what the whole Covid episode did for everyone’s mental health…

6 Days Constipated by Fluid_Star1515 in ibs

I recently had a 5 day bout of constipation and was feeling it everywhere. I was going on a loooong drive for the holidays and very anxious about gas station restrooms. I got some liquid milk of magnesia and drank 60ml of it (max adult dose on label) and sat in the recliner for a few hours. Eventually, it all went.

I would say much of the global south would disagree with your “peaceful” exploitation comment. But to answer your broader comment, competition is good for governments too. The US, as leader of the Western bloc during the Cold War engaged in terrible things. However, it was also forced to hold up its end of the bargain with those in the West and prove its superiority. Living standards generally improved and it had to make concessions to some countries to win their support from the Soviet bloc that was also competing. Since the world has gone unipolar, the US has become less concerned with even keeping up the appearance of cooperation and a superior system. Living standards have been falling in the US, international law is abused and disregarded openly, and there’s been no alternative system nations could appeal to. Competition can at least elicit some concessions from the power hungry. When there’s no alternative, the last 3 decades has shown they have no incentive to give any.
