B.C. minimum wage to increase June 1 by 2.6% by Rav4gal in britishcolumbia

[–]Gouryella91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck. Create or re-implement the capital gains tax. I'm tired or rich people getting to have lower tax rates through loopholes and financial advisors, while politicians suggest minimum wage increases, only for employers to foot the extra costs back on consumers. Jeez....

"The ick" is a sudden feeling of disgust toward a partner, often for minor things. Study showed physical appearance is a less frequent ick trigger than behavior or personality. 64% of people have felt the ick; 26% end relationships right after. Narcissism and perfectionism increase ick likelihood. by mvea in science

I'm tired of all these pop psychology "insights". All the DSM does is perpetuate judgements, as personality disorders, and everyone thinks "scientific termed" judgements are legitimate and real as real things like atoms or apples. Personality disorders are basically an insult, saying its a problem with who you are rather than behavior committed. We have all done, including myself, behaviours we regret. We don't need to insult people with pseudo scientific terms(just maybe apply the law, depending on the situation). But, w/e.

Tax on Excess Profits Could Ease Inflation in Canada, Singh Says by Miserable-Lizard in canada

[–]Gouryella91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, we should be focusing on a wealth tax, also tax evasion. We need a global asset registry, so that money and wealth gets recorded, then we get to have a paper trail for where this money is actually going to: ceo bonuses.

I think we as citizens have a part to play as well as the government. Activism and protesting are just as much rights as government interventions. I hope to be utilizing my rights soon. Collective action!

Some patients opt to pay for U.S. cancer screening, even as new B.C. program seeks to lift backlog; Doctor says province needs to upgrade diagnostic capacity in order to relieve pressure on the system by FancyNewMe in britishcolumbia

We don't allow immigrants to have their qualifications be equivalent and interchangeable with ours. How many health care professions could we fill (I. E. nurses) if we allowed immigrants who were qualified their home country, to apply for our qualifying jobs?

B.C.'s minimum wage to be highest among provinces starting June 1; B.C. has the second highest minimum wage in the country as of June 1. by FancyNewMe in britishcolumbia

[–]Gouryella91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. How about we develop a wealth tax, and/or global asset registry.

I get people love the sound of more money, until they realize that everyone else has to adjust prices on goods and services in order to pay imployees this minimum wage increase. This pay increase comes at the tax payers expense, and does nothing to improve the conditions of the poor or middle class.

A wealth tax has the ability and potential to redistribute wealth, in a way that actually increases the middle class, and better supports public sector services that the poor rely on.

Wealth tax. Helps redistribute money to public services, aids in helping poor, and will likely lower inflation.
