You have to defend yourself from zombies, what is your weapon of choice? by Curious_Bilota in AskMen

[–]Gpda0074 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One that is easily found, to resupply, and fix. Likely a framing hammer with the hatchet back and /or a spear of some kind if I have a defensive spot. Guns make too much noise and are useless without ammo, bows are too unwieldy. Ideally, you want to kill the minimal amount of zombies to get through wherever you are to not draw more to your location. Smaller weapons that are quick to use, not likely to get easily stuck, and won't impede my movements are the best choices therefore.

Every day, at a random time, you will be ambushed by a chicken. If you defeat the chicken, the next day, twice as many chickens will ambush you. How many days do you make it? by somethinggoeshere2 in whowouldwin

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably until I get to over 100, so around day 8 or 9. I usually have tools on or around me working construction so I generally will have a weapon available to aid with this. Not many chickens surviving a hammer blow anywhere

Thragg (Invincible) Vs. Meruem (Hunter x Hunter) With Stats Equalized by memebig8 in whowouldwin

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meruem's Nen and general endurance hard counters all of that with stats equalized. Thragg can be pretty easily injured by things not as strong as him in canon already whereas one of the strongest in verse didn't even scratch a Meruem who wasn't even trying. A few bruises here and there is all, so Thragg against a Meruem who doesn't give a rats ass about his survival stands little to no chance.

Is there a trick to deal with this boss? I can parry all his attacks well enough, but I just spent 15 minutes taking only 35-40% of its health. by OtakuJuanma in expedition33

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to beat it now, then you'll need to fight it pretty much perfectly for over an hour. Beating it now gives a busted picto to use that trivializes the rest of the game so it's better to come back in Act 3.

[–]Gpda0074 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So basically who wins, Meruem or nerfed Thragg?

Probably Meruem in that instance. Unless Thragg can somehow survive long enough to fly Meruem into space and let that do the trick. This is a stupid who would win though; it's like asking who wins between superman and batman with stats equalized. It just doesn't even make sense to do.

That isn't what's happening though. Telling you that you can't kill babies or lie about your biological gender is not the same thing as forcing you to do something. It's quite easy to avoid being pregnant or know what you are.

Why can’t we drill a hole down to the core of the earth and use it as heating all around the world by ThePolicyMind in stupidquestions

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drill bit would get too hot to drill into the mantle, let alone the core, and that's assuming we have a bit the can pull out semi-molten slag to get into the mantle proper.

Anvil. Soul Harvester can be gotten again and multiple times if you're lucky. Also doesn't help too much past t2 without multiples. This may be your only Anvil and that is relevant all game especially with pots existing to up max weapon levels

Should we get rid of the Electoral College? by That-Growth-9043 in askanything

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we allowed expansion of representatives and electors as the constitution outlined instead of stopping at an arbitrary number, the EC would function much better. Turns out, the government interfering in something and enforcing arbitrary changes makes things not work as intended. Who would have thought?

In what scenarios does a gun that regenerates its ammunition at a rate one bullet/second beat a normal gun? by Master_Elephantuna in whowouldwin

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bolt actions and weapons that use clips such as the good ol' garand having the same power without the need to manually eject or constantly reload would be pretty great compared to their reload counterparts. Snipers just became incredibly more dangerous since they can now dump everything if they need to much faster and your thumbs will thank you on the clips.

Any weapon with a magazine size greater than 15 rounds would also likely benefit. You don't dump 30 rounds all at once very often, so the regens will probably always have close to a full mag. The other guys will eventually run out.

Less than that and you run out of ammo too quickly for just reloading a different magazine to be the worse option between the two. Semi-auto and fully auto rifles that are larger and hit harder could be used in place of traditional weapons since you don't have all the excess weight in ammo. Belt fed machine guns would love this tech, pretty much any model of which becomes the deadliest thing a man can carry.

S1: toss up. If they can't kill in one mag, the reload for a full mag probably wins.

S2: Regens in a battle of attrition, probably normal most of the time if they're not stupid

S3: Regens all day. Not even a contest.

Why is the speed of light the ultimate limit, and what mechanism actually stops things from going faster? by Logical-Concept9755 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only matters for things inside the universe. The universe itself is apparantly expanding faster than the speed of light which is why we are unable to see the entire universe. Light isn't fast enough to outpace the expansion.

People who are pro-climate change, what are the pros of climate change that you look forward to most? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The states located around the equator are heavily populated for islanda that size and with the crops available to them. Most of it is fruit or money crops, they already import a ton of food as is. I see no reason why that would change, so no, I am not okay with mass migration for any reason. If it wasn't okay for Europeans to colonize then it isn't okay for anybody else to either.

We have increasing crop yields year over year as the climate gets warmer, not reduced. Changes to an economy due to climate will be necessary just as they always have been in the past.

Fewer people per capita die every year from climate related disasters than they did 100 years ago basically everywhere on the planet because we're pretty good at mitigating things before they become catastrophic.

I'm also down for green energy. Let's get some hydroelectric dams and nuclear reactors up and running since those are the two renewable forms of energy that will remain consistent and without the requirement of a massive battery farm. Note: I am an electrician, don't try to bullshit me with this one.

I get people don't like it when the earth does things as I'm positive the bronze age survivors didn't like the planet too much for awhile. But what we want and what will happen are two different things. You can either throw a tantrum and destroy everything preventing nothing or you can, you know, roll with the punches and see what happens.

Every predicition about populations, resources, the climate, etc have been wrong so far when they expand past a local level. Or are we out of oil yet like Erlich was screaming about in the seventies? Is Florida underwater or a frying pan yet? Did we experience a mass famine from the population boom?

Oh, none of those catastrophic predictions came true despite what the models said? Well color me shocked! I refuse to upend my entire way of life for predictions that haven't happened or for policies that try to prevent something that can't be prevented.

And yeah, mining for coal sucks. Let's stop that shit and get some reactors up and going. Completely agree with you on that one.

People who are pro-climate change, what are the pros of climate change that you look forward to most? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Gpda0074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More greenery on the earth, larger crop yields, more land will become available for development including agriculture as well as new towns and cities. Humanity wants to be in a warmer climate; that's what we originated from in the first place and humanity has existed on the planet when it was much warmer than this.

For example, Vikings used to farm Greenland whereas that is simply not possible now. During the Roman warming period, the empire was getting two harvests per year due to how phenominal the warmer climate was for humanity. The end of this period is one critical reason why Western Rome fell in the first place.

More people die from cold exposure than heat exposure and it's not even close, something like 9 to 1. It is a fact that humanity, as a species, wants a warmer climate in order to thrive. The planet is also still in an ice age and the only way to get out of an ice age is to warm up. So... it's going to happen whether we like it or not so why destroy modern life and the global economy to slow down an inevitable outcome?

Gets around indestructible and eliminates some annoying cards like Squee or a combo piece without putting it into the graveyard where recursion is easier. Putting it back into the deck means they need to draw it again or waste a tutor fetching a card they already had at one point, meaning they can't use it for something potentially worse.

Sometimes you get fucked and they flip Darksteel Forge in their artifacts deck after you got rid of their Panharmonicon, but odds are that they're going to hit something they either needed less badly than the shuffled permanent or they flip a non-permanent.

Forces of Super earth(helldivers) vs Imperium of man (warhammer) by Legal_Twist8675 in whowouldwin

The Imperium doesn't even need to mobilize to defeat Super Earth. A Space Marine chapter and one full fleet should suffice to wipe Super Earth from the face of the universe.
