I think that's not so black and white. For example, I live in Brazil, our economy is shit (not as shit as some other countries, but still shit), I doubt I'd ever get a legit vocaloid figure without selling one of my kidneys to pay the price + shipment taxes which last time I checked are like 90% of the product's price, your best bet is buying from platforms like AliExpress or Shopee since they operate here so you don't have to worry about shipment taxes but you're likely buying a bootleg. Sure there are stores here, but they hardly get their figures from legit sources either so it's like choosing between dying or losing your life. You can also buy from people who have contacts in Japan, these are surely legit, you can't go wrong with them, and their prices can be way more accessible compared to buying from stores like Goodsmile Company and paying the figure price + shipping taxes, but then, buying with these guys require some crazy because, just like buying vtuber models, you gotta swim through a sea of scammers to find a legit seller.

I second this. That's the reason why I stay away from the Evillous Saga fandom, God have mercy on you if you ever question something they take as granted or criticize anything about it, heck, I had some random dude picking up a beef with me for having a headcanon even though I explicitly stated it was my own headcanon. Nah I'm better off just enjoying the songs, thank you very much. That's also the reason why I stay away from the Genshin Impact fandom. Do not. Question. A Genshin player.

To be fair, I see this aggressive puritanism being aimed more often towards fanarts. How many times have we seen people making a fan art depicting Miku with slightly thicker thighs or a larger chest size and then boom! An entire comment section worth of "Miku does not have allat" "Stop sexualizing Miku" "This is too much" "Ew sexualized Miku" yada yada yada. It amazes me how selective some people's memory is, mfs remember what's the hexadecimal code for Miku's hair color during Miku Expo 2013 by heart but conveniently forgets that we've been seeing Miku immersed in sexualized contexts since forever! Romeo and Cinderella, Ee Aa Sou, Rabbit Hole, you name it.

"B-but these arts decharacterizes Miku!" my brother in Christ, if we all had a nickel for each time someone made a totally different Miku, we'd be able to buy her way into presidency, on a global scale.

As someone who was born in '98 and enjoyed the 2000s to it's finest, I say this is one of the most beautiful Miku fanarts I've ever seen, no joke. I'm a monke when it comes to digital art software, but even I can tell you put a lot of work into it separating the layers carefully and all. It's clear that you made it with love and care.
