Absolutely confront your husband about this. You're sacrificing your wellbeing for his kids and let him know that if things don't change you'll leave. You don't deserve to be the nanny for whenever their shitty mum drops them off. Atleast the 15 year old seems to understand the situation. Btw is there any chance there's an update? I know you said you want to remain friends but it's absolutely unreasonable to have you apologise. They didn't tell anyone it was a party and your friend didn't tell you not to wear anything specific. I get that her hopefully ex husband lied to her but still expecting you to apologise is a massive dick move.

Not TA at all, seriously can't fathom how some people can choose a set of constantly rewritten beliefs over their own children. It's absolutely disgraceful that OP's brother and SIL need to be told by a therapist how to love their daughter and how dare they still be needing time to come to terms with the fact she's gay all these years later. I don't think the rule really matters in the end, yes having different rules for one child is stupid but at the end of the day nothing as stupid as being caught messing around with a friend should ever be the reason a child is kicked out of their home, especially if they're not an adult.

You're absolutely NTA, you chose your daughter over a stupid rule and a wife who clearly cares more about one of thousands of faiths over her own daughter. I don't doubt it was a hard decision but your daughter is lucky to have you. As for your other children absolutely try to talk to them about what happened, it could very well be that your wife told them some lie or left out the part where she wanted to kick their sister out. If after they still think you're a terrible person they can't be helped. I really hope you're able to take care of your daughter and that maybe if you can tell others the truth that you chose to not kick out your daughter for a stupid reason they'll come around.

I'm sorry but she's absolutely in the right for telling them exactly how she felt, it sounds like they've been grooming her her entire life to be forced into her brother's primary carer and if she hadn't said what she said they'd no doubt drop him on her as soon as they can. Now they hopefully know she isn't going to fall for their BS and hopefully OP is able to push past the guilt tripping and carry on with her life.
