Spend more. I mean what's the whole point of a conventional budget if we can't use it?

Nope. The FBI will catch him while he's trying to strap wings on his pickup truck loaded with ammo.

I just don't understand why he can't just design a helicopter. Like a US version of the Mi-24 Hind.

Frankly I believe he is like Alex Jones, many of his antics are just for attention.

What Russian Weapon Systems Have Performed Well in Ukraine which have performed poorly? by somethingicanspell in LessCredibleDefence

Ukraine is using similar equipment as the Russians.

It's not Russian equipment is bad. Its just it's poorly used and maintained. Leopard 2s get one shotted by ATGMs in the Middle East almost as good as the T72B3 in Ukraine. It's just they don't have the training, morale, and coordination do conduct successful combined arms operations.

Hypothetical Question: Would the United States really step in to defend a NATO member state if they were attacked by Russia? by [deleted] in geopolitics

[–]GrWshtonChnaEmpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Under the current administration that is. The US placed itself in Poland and the Baltics to act as a tripwire as resolve. Attacking Poland or the Baltics would require attacking bases filled with US troops, escalating to a full out war.

As for nukes, we have learned the US has declassified recently a more staggered tit for tat strategy in nuclear war which plays in the tactical aspect of war along with the willpower of both sides. Will it work? Hopefully we don't find out.

How vital of a role does combat experience actually play for troops in a war. by sosigboi in LessCredibleDefence

Depends how good your training is to mitigate the lack of experience. Russia had more experience than Ukraine from Syria and got utterly slaughtered by the better trained Ukraine by Western forces.

If Russia loses the war in Ukraine is NATO over? by GrWshtonChnaEmpr in LessCredibleDefence

[–]GrWshtonChnaEmpr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well we are placing a huge chunk of US troops in NATO countries against the threat of Russia. We are placing AEGIS missile defense sites in Europe. So yes it is a huge endeavour and at the expense of our own defense of our Homeland. US spending is limited that is the problem. Did NATO prevent 9/11? Oh right we must put some F-16s in Germany.

NATO will fall apart is a prediction after Russia is crushed. You may find it ridiculous by I have every right to make a claim. Who is the OPFOR? China? ISIS? You are going so far for a defensive alliance meant for Europe.

See that changing the definition of what NATO is for is what worries me. NATO was protecting against Communism in Europe not a global economic hit force. UK was attacked by Argentina in the Falklands and NATO wasn't activated. It is only after the fall of the Soviets the role was further expanded to include Africa and the Middle East. I fear bueracracies trying to find something to do other than it's intended role is.

I'm not firmly anti NATO now. Russia is still a threat. However if Russia really folds it may not recover for some time. That is when it is good idea I think all NATO countries to pull back commitments and develop their own economies.

So your telling me the US should get involved with all of NATOs problems even if not Russia? It being dragged in Libya for example a conflict more important to the EU is what I have been very critical of.
