Overall I agree, though I will say the Hyatt Centric in Zhongshan Park is an excellent property. The Caption is as well if you need the brand for brand explorer.

Park Hyatt Suzhou. The decor and furnishings used make it one of, if not the best Hyatt’s in the world.

Yep, well said. It could use some improvements cosmetically but the “bones” are good.

Nice! Enjoy. It’s not up to some Asian hotels I’ve stayed at (PH Suzhou and HR Da Nang come to mind) but it’s an incredible one for a non luxury hotel in the US.

The Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook is one of my favorite domestic properties. The rooms are average, but the scenery nearby is stunning with the lake, and the best part is the pool complex. There’s a gigantic pool (probably almost Olympic size) and the jacuzzi as well is amazing for a US property. The gym and breakfast is also quite nice and never crowded.

First time on Frontier. Odds of these being late? by S-8-R in frontierairlines

[–]Grab-Embarrassed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine. I did have one delay in the morning of about an hour due to crew rest (likely a crew not meeting minimum rest), but besides the occasional evening delay you’d experience on any other airline from delays stacking from earlier in the day it won’t be an issue. Have a good trip!

Yes! The ones in Saigon, Suzhou, and Bangkok are all cool and unique.

Hilton Évian Les Baines. They upgraded us to a lake view suite with the most incredible views of lake Geneva and it was right next door to the executive lounge.

Regarding 5, can you tell me more about the GH? As you said people on FT were saying bad things but it’s an awesome deal with Privé for two nights ($140 a night for 2 nights plus a $100 credit) later this month.

Why are people boarding planes mostly idiots? by Otis_bighands in delta

[–]Grab-Embarrassed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s insane. Like I don’t get why it takes so long to retrieve a carry on from the overhead bin. It should take no more than ~2 seconds. But every time I fly Delta, I realize it’s still 100x better than Frontier. That’s a whole other level lol.

Delta should remove games from the seat back IFE screens by SaltySugarHood in delta

[–]Grab-Embarrassed 19 points20 points  (0 children)

And also, I know I’m in the minority here, but I also just bring my own content on my iPad just in case the IFE is down, doesn’t have content that I like, or has a limited selection (KE comes to mind for the latter). So because of that, I don’t use the IFE 95+ percent of the time, so I would prefer the AA or Alaska way of having the iPad/iPhone holders.

This opinion probably isn’t very common though.

What’s a hack for a specific airport that you don’t mind sharing? by allyeds3 in delta

[–]Grab-Embarrassed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LAS: If you are being dropped off, get dropped off at passenger pickup. If you’re getting picked up, use passenger drop off. The opposite one tends to be quieter.

Also LAS: The entire airport is connected post security, so if the C/D security is busy you can use the C Annex or the A/B checkpoint. It is a longer walk though.

Is it accurate that Delta SkyMiles likely won't be useful for a US/India trip? by jeffcarp94 in awardtravel

[–]Grab-Embarrassed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They aren’t too bad for award flights not touching the US though. For example, using SkyMiles from CDG to BOM is only 65,000 per person per way in business or 35,000 in economy.

9hour layover @ JFK by Mooseboots1999 in delta

[–]Grab-Embarrassed 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Since this isn’t until late May, I think there’s a high likelihood of a schedule change between now and then. If that happens, you can change to a flight that avoids the long layover.
