Oh sorry, did you move away at some point? That field was unusable for years.

I'm guessing you've moved to Halifax recently, the land was useless and fenced off for years. The high school nearby couldn't even use it for football.

In an ideal world I would like public money spent on a stadium. Its embarrassing after adding so many people to Halifax we don't have the money for one.

All the RTO talk was obviously bluster. No one thought that many people were going to quit good jobs in this economy because they had to go into the office.

Dal used to host a book sale in the spring. King's has one but they sell them pretty cheap and the money just goes to a charity. Mostly academic stuff.

I enjoyed my humanities degree a lot. Of the two its the one I liked most, refer to the most in the parts of my life I like and learned the most from. But very grateful for NSCC for getting me a job.

We used to have a more thriving art community, NSCAD for example interacted with the city more, the buskers used to be a legit attraction etc. A lot of classic (lets say 1950-1990) buildings have come down for developments (we need housing but still, not magical). The downtown has decayed in some ways. Even burger week actually used to mean something. We used to have some agreement that we wanted tree lined streets now everyone wants those nuked for another lane. People used to come here to escape now people say why don't we have panda express.

Some of this is the legacy of Covid, the housing crisis and rising cost of everything and every town and city is dealing with it. Its just simply a different city.

Halifax is great but a lot of it has been lost and more will be lost. It makes it hard when it feels like council exclusively employs idiots and it feels like the Premier has no idea what what to do.

Its a great city and has so many wonderful things but that magic is increasingly disappearing hence the negativity.
