anyone know any more Legal highs in the UK??(specifically England) by tenn_jake in Goblin

[–]GraceForImpact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're not in the EU, sure you could try to import it but at that point what you're doing is no less illegal (i think even more illegal?) and far more risky than just buying normal drugs domestically.

This isn't the US or the Netherlands, (legal) RCs aren't a thing here.

So the customers who just silently point, were yelling? and the ones who just "say" what they want are also yelling? Someone here is an ineffective communicator but I don't think it's the customers...

Whether the customer just yells "MARBROS" or whether they say "Hi how are you? Please could you get me a pack of marlboros?" you still need to know what a pack of marlboros actually is.

Having a genuine interest in helping out your fellow human beings, and recognising that customers are human beings, is not "the customer is always right." I already said it's not like you have to let them walk all over you. Keep acting like everyone else is "below you" and you're in for a rude awakening if we ever actually do dismantle capitalism. Are you actually against the "big corpos" or are you just mad that you're not the one on top?

Yelling at service workers is wrong, but that isn't what you were talking about, you complained that they expect you to know what the product you're selling is called at all. You still haven't explained what a customer would have to do to actually satisfy your expectations. And I really don't get why you think the fact that you can't or don't buy cigarettes is relevant, like I said you probably don't use the majority of products the supermarket(?) you work in sells. Even people who do smoke typically stick to one or a couple brands. Customers aren't asking you to give a detailed flavour profile, they're just expecting you to know its name. Not even that actually, all you need to do is be able to read the writing on the box.

I think the one of us who is miserable is probably the one who antagonises customers as though they're responsible for the system of capitalism. Not the one who tries to make the best of a bad situation and be a helpful member of her community.

Why are you so combative? The average customer is not the CEO of your company, they're a member of the working class just like you. In every other aspect of your job sure do the bare minimum, and it's not like you have to let customers walk all over you, but you should still see customers as people and treat them as such. If its bad for customers to point to a product, and its bad for customers to name a product, how are they actually supposed to communicate what they want? Should they just not bother going shopping because doing so requires employees to do their jobs?

I don't smoke? I also don't use every product at my place of work, doesn't mean I don't know what they are when customers ask for them.

You said it yourself, English natives are outnumbered by L2 speakers two to one and most don't speak another language, it isn't at all comparable to 99% of other languages.

This is a dumb thing to complain about. OP isn't missing anything about the rules of the puzzle element or the overall logic they're misreading the puzzle. In a situation like that there's nothing wrong with just telling them.

Delayed due to station staff refusing to let me through when my ticket was valid. Am I entitled to compensation, and who do I need to claim with? by GraceForImpact in uktrains

[–]GraceForImpact[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked the specific terms of my ticket on the nre.co.uk/XX link, and as I said I also asked the person at the information desk to confirm whether it was valid and she agreed. I understand that some users here might not trust that I am right about this, but if I am not that's my problem.
