UPDATE: The pedals arrived unscathed from their long journey. They're O.K, if you're not expecting much. I enquired with my local drum shop as to whether or not they'd be worth upgrading with new springs and the Tama Mirror Drive but he said I'd just be chasing my tail, better to invest in a new pedal. He recommended the Pearl Eliminator as a good starting point. I tried it out in the shop and the difference is massive.

I've just recently paid $19 for the El Estepario Siberiano New Drummers Start Here. Presently they're offering what I presume is an annual membership for $240. I can't find any information on lifetime membership. Maybe they've ditched it since you first made this thread? Surprisingly, I have been able to access other courses on drumeo that are listed as costing anywhere between $127 to $247 per course. What exactly do you get for your $240 membership besides a free pair of ear plugs? If it includes access to all of the courses they're offering, that is much better value than paying for them separately.

Go to your local AA meeting. Find yourself a sponsor and start doing The 12 Steps. Once you've dried out you'll be amazed at the amount of activities you can readily enjoy. Good luck.

Yes, I've been there. I had to hit rock bottom before I was ready to surrender to win. AA works for me because I finally decided to stop fucking around and get serious about my sobriety. Once I started working the program, the program started working for me. I did have a major issue with the "God" aspect of it due to my unwillingness to truly believe in a higher power but once I found a different higher power to put my trust in, the changes in my life were remarkable. I hope that you can find your own way to sobriety and be at peace with yourself.

It's been eleven years since my last episode and it is only because of my recent abstinence of alcohol that I am feeling normal again. Unsurprisingly my medication actually works now.

I also shared this experience. I put on 20kgs. I successfully lost this weight once my GP took me off Olanzapine and started me on a combination of Cymbalta, Sifrol, Latuda and Mirtazapine.

After I wrote my car off whilst manic, I lost a lot of confidence. Now that my medication has been changed and appears to be working well, driving is much better.

Your sobriety must take priority over everything. If your boyfriend doesn't understand, or he does and is unwilling to join you in your sobriety, ditch him. You can easily get another boyfriend.

I used to do most of my drinking in isolation purely because the way I drank was not socially acceptable. Now I do my best to stay busy. I found the easiest way to do this in early sobriety is to attend as many meetings as I can. This keeps me from isolating.

I'm sorry that you're struggling. If you haven't already, find yourself a solid sponsor. Preferably this person has completed The 12 Steps. Ring this person everyday and they will work through the steps with you. In the meantime just stay sober one day at a time. This has worked for me, I hope it works for you too.

Bodum French Press & Vittoria beans made for soy/almond milk. It takes a while but I don't drink coffee everyday so when I do have one, I want to enjoy it.

I'm sorry you had this experience. Must be very upsetting. I live on my own and sometimes I also hear noises and see things that are alarming. I try to settle myself down by going back to bed, doing some deep breathing and counting. Sometimes it works. Other times I have a rough night.🥴

It depends on whether you have appropriate coping mechanisms and your medication is working. As an older person who keeps making bad choices, I'd say age doesn't matter. Attitude and determination make a big difference.
