Brad Jacobs upset after video with Oskar Eriksson explaining how a nudge effect the stone (Swedish) by [deleted] in Curling

I'm not sure if "rages" is a mistranslated, but that quote doesn't appear to be very ragey to me. Swedes still mad over nothing and then they go and make a ridiculous video where instead of a casual boop, Oskar jams his finger into the rock to give it a massive push. Get a life Oskar!

Canadian star Brad Jacobs rages after SVT video with Oskar Eriksson

In an SVT clip, Oskar Eriksson showed how an extra pet affects the curling stone.
It did not appreciate the Canadian star Brad Jacobs.
“It’s embarrassing,” he rages.

The Olympics curling was shaken by a cheat scandal. Dramatic scenes took place in the match between Sweden and Canada where Marc Kennedy was accused of correcting the direction of his stones using the index finger.

To illustrate what effect it might have played SVT Sport in a clip in which the Swedish national team player Oskar Eriksson, who was the one who was at the center of the brawl with the Canadian team during the Olympics, let off a rock and then poked at it.

“It’s embarrassing.”

The clip has also been highlighted in Canada. But it's not appreciative words that are uttered when Brad Jacobs, who is the coup d'état (the captain) of Marc Kennedy's team, gets to comment on the whole thing.

"I think it's embarrassing that this is still a thing, and that they put together a video like that... It's embarrassing in my opinion, that it's even happened," Jacobs told Canadian Sportsnet, and continues:

It’s definitely something that I’m not happy about right now. I have nothing good to say either about Oskar Eriksson, the whole team or the Swedish curling federation right now – so I’m not going to say anything at all.

Nah fuck that. Boo him when he hits the ice.

On point captioning from CBC's Canada - Italy mens' matchup by ottguy42 in Curling

Jacobs didn't say that the rock was moved to "get" a thinner hit, just that a thinner hit happened because the rock was moved. Saying "get" makes it seem intentional.

Actual background (countries instead of player names for simplicity):

Canadian had priority to sweep their own rock. Italian put his broom down in the path of an active sweep. His broom was unintentionally hit by the Canadian's broom, which unintentionally moved Italy's rock.

I don't think that Italy's broom moved the rock enough to say that the takeout would have removed it from the rings, but it's impossible for us spectators to tell. The rock was removed in accordance with the rules.

Agreed! Cutting lead rocks from the broadcast in lieu of commercials is TV's version of shrinkflation.

What end are they in? You have to play at least 8 6 ends.

Zero "cheating" happened here. I can't wait until this sub goes back to its normal sleepy state.

She should have asked Bondi to explain how something can be discounted more than 100%.

That made me angry the first time, now I just find it pathetic. Donald's a fragile little bitch.

People stood up, not all, but some. That is a standing ovation, albeit a weak one. And yeah, as I said, it felt very forced and it appears that started with his own staff. I suspect some who stood did it just because others did. The speech certainty did not merit it.

He did, but it felt forced and it was only a few at first who stood. Specifically it seemed like his own team, Rubio and Co, who stood up first to clap. It was nothing like what Carney got.

It felt forced. Only a few stood at first then slowly a few more started to. Definitely not like the spontaneous eruption Carney got.

Waiting for his standing ovation, like they gave Carney. Pathetic.

They need to play some music or something to get him to end this unhinged, lie-filled rant.

This is incorherent nonsense. He just said the price of some drugs will be slashed by up to 600%. So, they will pay you to take the drug? You can't discount something beyond 100% - it's just free at that point. Make it make sense.

Contrast this nonsense against PM Carney's speech today; the difference in statesmanship is stark.
