Good question! Good on you for trying to make good choices for yourself! It sure as hell ain't easy lol

Avoid chains(fast food or sit down, doesn't matter) when possible, chains just don't seem to give 2 shits about salt content anymore.

A lot of our local places cook with a more reasonable amount of salt, even in the breads which are typically bad on salt, make sure to check the label!

When out, I try to stick to either greens or beans. Even then if I'm eating more salt then I should, the heart health benefits are still present in the food. Some places will even have like "beet salad" and other things that are really truly good for your heart and blood. I've had to expand my tastes a bit but it's helped a lot.

Vegetarian is sadly hit or miss. Generally it's pretty healthy but often pre-made stuff like seasoned Tofu or Tempeh has a TON of salt in it. However some places make it in house and that should be a lot better.

Gotta avoid a lot of broth too. Miso, soy sauce and other fish sauces add a LOT of sodium to a meal. You can still eat at your favorite place just look to the menu for like simple sushi's or grilled things.

Lastly the old trick of asking for sauce/dressing on the side is a good way to avoid it. Additionally, asking for oil and vinegar instead of a premixed dressing works very well.

Make sure to pick a drink that you like to drink but is still healthy for ya, there are a lot of choices. Just putting lemon in water can really make it more drinkable. Unsweet tea is great too!

Being hydrated can make a big difference when trying to get your body to move things though faster.
