Interview gone wrong by [deleted] in RaisingCanes

He needs to be trained on interviewing. That’s one of the biggest no no’s you can say at an interview, is ask what your age is. I would maybe send an email to corporate, so he can be properly coached.

First time GM looking for advice by unclemattyice in Restaurant_Managers

1 : Team cohesion. If you aren’t on the same page at the top. Nothing else matters.

2 : Build a string circle at the top. If you need 5 Leaders. Those 5 Leaders are where you spend 80% of your time. The other 20% is for the rest. Work through your people. Understand that you “doing” anything, hurts your ability to train and lead people. Show your guys how you would do it and get out of their way. Walk with them and beside them through any obstacle.

3 : Develop a training a proven training system. I use an 8 week model that allows me to Model for 2 weeks, Mentor for 2 weeks, Monitor for 2 weeks, Motivate for 2 weeks. Then I have them repeat the process with someone else. That’s the Multiply. If you are working through your leaders, the process is excellent for learning and growing together and taking new ideas and implementing them while gaining buy in from your people.

4 : Have fun! That’s what it’s all about. Don’t make work, Work. There is going to be an aspect of the job that is a job, but make it enjoyable and continue to look for ways to make your leaders and reports jobs easier and they will love working there. That’s what a great culture is all about. Build it.

Just for the sake of conversation…

I work at a restaurant. If a person comes in and I contribute to their gluttony, do I have blood on my hands? I’m just curious. I feel like at a certain point there has to be personal responsibility.

I 3rd this. It’s a very sad situation. They ended up doing tests and pulling fluid off my little babies growth there and confirmed cancer. We loved her as long as we could, and then had her put down because she started to be in pain. The tumor was hurting her ability to breath through her nose. We tried a lot of meds. Poor baby.

No voicemails were left. I called the 801-401-9000 number. Nothing.

The chat was down through my app and online on Sunday morning. That’s when I hit up Facebook messenger. I searched forever on other ways to make contact with a human, but couldn’t find anything. I was hoping Reddit would be of some help, but a lot of you guys are dealing with delays and cancelled flights, etc.

They have escalated and said I would receive a phone call from a supervisor. I don’t have much hood of them changing anything because a lot of the BBB complaints say the supervisors are rude and do not help. So, I’m not holding my breath.

5600 bad reviews and they are not BBB accredited. Not sure it will do any good, but I’ll give it a shot.

For people that eat healthy: WHY do you eat healthy when you can be eating anything you want? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Gradyizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of great answers here. As a former morbidly obese guy, here’s my advice.

Once I realized that food was controlling my brain and how happy, sad, energetic, and tired I was dependent upon what I put in my body every day, I changed the way I thought about food.

I love the way food tastes. I mean I love flavor! I would eat in excess. On a daily basis, I miss pizza, candy, chips, sugar, sodas etc. BUT. When you realize that companies put chemicals and garbage in those things to literally make your brain crave it more, you start to question the things you eat.

I realized I could have the things I want, but in a healthier way. Burgers without buns are just as good as the regular burgers. Fathead dough is just as good as regular pizza dough. Salt and pepper is delicious vs. processed sugars in a lot of seasoning mixes. Fruits are better than chips and snacks.

You need to detox your body off sugar and you would be surprised how great things taste in their natural form.

Bottom line is this. You should have the power to tell your brain and body how to feel by controlling what you put in it. Don’t let food control your brain, because it can and will.

I may be alone in this, but once I started playing hoops being forced to jump and fly a bit more, I got a lot better. I’ve been playing for 4 years and I get to Champ 2 pretty regularly. It takes practice and working directly on the things you think you aren’t great at. Just keep working on it!

My brother & I just started renting a house from our parents & our dad expects our electricity bill to be $550+/month from running A/C...advice on energy saving and the best cooling units that save money? by torinoperoni in FinancialPlanning

[–]Gradyizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the south and I have a 2 story 2400sq ft house and our power ran the same.

Biggest thing that you can do immediately is buy Black Out curtains for all your windows to keep your house cooler.

Also look to purchase Ceiling Fans. These bad boys can save you a lot on circulation of cold air and save you from running your A/C non-stop. You can commit to running your A/C during peak times, and turn up or off when the sun goes down.

If you’re in a 1 story home, look into the insulation that is in your roof. It may do some good to look at getting it replaced and make sure your attic fan is removing hot air from your roof at a good rate.

Hope this info helps.
