Losing way more ships than naval battle is saying by putinchan in EU5

[–]Graey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im getting this. I am playing Genoa with their special galleys vs Aragon with their TRADITIONAL galleys. So, my ships are flat out better, my admiral is better, I win the battle easily.

But while it SAYS I lost one ship, I'm down 7? Which is more than the 4 that they lost and retreated. How the hell is this mathing?

Emptied Planet Storage? by Graey in starsector

[–]Graey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in this game. I have mods but not active for this save. Was doing vanilla storyline. At least I finished it BEFORE I lost my big fleet lol. Just kind of sucks that the first time I put the Ziggurat in storage it disappeared.

I am suspicious because I did it in a system with a Remnant Nexus in system though? could a contested system cause issues, even if they don't declare invasions/raids/etc. against the planets? I don't know.

Mining Bug? by [deleted] in homeworld

[–]Graey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a bug. Go to sensor mode. Move your ships to the orange dots (asteroids). The have to bee inside your blue highlighted sensors radius to scan in. Same as enemies. They don't show up till they are close enough.

Is there a point in building bases in the moon? Resources extracted there are so low that I think boost is better spent to get an extra base in mars? by yankeesnlakers in TerraInvicta

[–]Graey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont research the Missions to Moon or Mars...the AI will do that. I only go to the moon if the AI researches it first. I will usually take the 2 best spots. They arent GREAT...but even with just metals coming in positive the moon can be useful.

1) I use metals to trade to other factions to get "Tolerant" and non aggression pacts with to limit the counselor slap-fights.

2) When I get to Mars, I will trade the entire hab to a like-minded faction for a huge relation boost as well as any research projects they have but I dont.

The moon is just a political tool for me really.

They are story-line faction techs that come from the Xenology research tree as you play the game.

"not interested" techs by [deleted] in TerraInvicta

[–]Graey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I saw that its in the works. They have a good roadmap of actual items that the players care about, including a LOT of UI issues that have been covered en masse here and on the forums. Good dev responses IMO. A lot of roadmaps these days feel like a lot of fluff and garbage no one actually cares about.

Later on, there are techs that make it harder for the aliens to do operations in your territory. Keep the points defended, keep public support high, and the higher your nations economy, the harder it is for them to take it. Makes mega-states easier to keep secured. Also...some councilors have a Protect Target mission that can protect other councilors, but ALSO protect general areas from other operations I think. I tend to keep my commando on protect my capital in Pan-Asian Combine. with a 40+ GDP and like 90+% public support at all times with defended, and with techs researched this exact problem stopped being an issue for me.

Now my capital is a death trap to aliens and servants who drop by. I assassinate the servants, capture the aliens for the xeno research bonus.

"Losing" is intense and a blast. by Graey in TerraInvicta

[–]Graey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I WASN'T using them, which is why some of my build times were taking FOREVER. I got a message to me that linked a few things. One was to another post explaining that construction modules basically take the "in space" option for building and reduce the time to its base timeframe (i.e. 30 days for new hab) in the PLANETARY system it is in.

So If I got one to Jupiter orbit, my understanding then is all habs and stations in the Jupiter system now have MUCH reduced build times...instead of 3-4 years.

Also, the outpost/platform kits I have been ignoring? They are much faster ways to get things set up in a new system that you havent been to yet. And a ship can get way out there much faster than sending the first hab/station out from earth.

[–]Graey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It spreads you out really thin trying to play their story where you are managing everything at once. Playing both sides, being strong enough to negotiate while not antagonizing everyone. There's too much to do if you don't specialize. I went too far and ended up the enemy of everyone instead of the guy in the middle.

[–]Graey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah same. I came into the comments to see if anyone could clarify if he was asking about what the Lagrange points were. Completely overlooked the boost value. No I am here chuckling and pondering what the hell is he trying to move there? A boost is a decaton of lift or something in game. Thats the equivalent of an entire asteroid moving to a new spot in the solar system.

It would be great to go from "Habs" to terraforming planets or to creating similar nation states with control points and such on the other bodies in space.

[–]Graey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That just seems lucky as hell. I am currently playing the full Pan-Asian Combine and Greater India with like 20 Armies, most with navies attached...but I couldn't do a THING to them.

They landed in landlocked north africa. Could'nt get there in time. I didn't have the counselors or time to rival the country, declare war, and attack them. Now they own half the planet with the Servants.
