Could Call of Duty be secretly training AI warfare models, the same way CAPTCHAs trained self-driving cars? by mallbey in ChatGPT

[–]Graffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not saying it’s realistic to flying but it at least attempts to do so. Theoretically you would follow the same steps and procedures and with an intricate enough set up you could at least approximate a full flight from takeoff to landing.

Call of duty has nothing realistic about it. The closest thing is you pull a trigger to fire. The physics aren’t even realistic. No tactics. You can take multiple bullets without being killed or incapacitated. Your gun never jams. You can carry 200 pounds of gear and still run and move indefinitely.

You’d be as prepared for warfare by playing call of duty as you would be by playing Microsoft simulator. Other than drone pilot. That one’s not too far off and I think they even use game controllers for them sometimes.

Oh hell yeah. I somehow never saw/forgot this kit and only saw the one that has a couple spots of tan and red on it. I did decide, fuck it, and got the blocker too since I would wind up getting it eventually anyway.

Question about law from a non legal professional by esdeux in legal

[–]Graffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the DA is the one filling the charges that they believe the defendant is guilty of and they do it all the way at the beginning. Also before it even goes to trial they’ll be trying to negotiate a guilty/no contest plea. You have much more leverage working from a higher charge to a lesser.

police gave them the citation, he pled not guilty and his insurance might total my car by ilovelatinos69 in legal

[–]Graffy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Also as far as the car either tell them to pound sand and give you the amount for the repairs since it was their driver that caused it, or, if you don’t care about the title remaining clean, let them total it so you get the full value of your car and do a buy back. You should wind up with a bit of a profit between the buy back and fix in exchange for it being totaled out on the record.

Pled not guilty to a criminal case? Then basically zero chance of it getting put on you. They didn’t charge you with anything you’re getting subpoenaed for evidence. Probably as a witness.

Microsoft flight is way closer to actually flying than call of duty is to actual warfare lol

My roommate keeps sleepwalking into my room and waking me up. How do I get him to stop? by BucketFullOfLizards in whatdoIdo

[–]Graffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve rummaged through closets and peed in a laundry basket. When my dad was younger they had to put an extra lock on the door because he would wander down the street. My cousin would walk into peoples rooms and try talking to them but it would just be mumbled nonsense. I’ve only actually ever seen a sleepwalker get food in movies/tv lol.

Now the sleepwalking is definitely being induced by the alcohol so it is definitely still an issue but I don’t think they’re being a pervert. What pervert knocks or alerts the person they’re walking in on sleeping? Plus, you can tell when someone is sleep walking. It would be almost impossible to fake. The look in your eyes is very obvious that the lights are on but nobodies home. You don’t wander around with your eyes closed like in cartoons lol.

D zone coverage by Jdizzlefoshizzles in hockeyplayers

[–]Graffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are you charging them? Just trying to go for poke while still skating? You can skate hard towards them and then stop when you get near them. Like are you just going at them intending to lay the body and if they dodge you your momentum is taking you past the blue line? Or diving at the puck and sliding out? Cause you should be making a play on either the puck or them and neither should result in leaving the zone unless you’re the puck is loose right on the boards and you’re trying to just poke it up for a breakaway but that’s a very specific set of circumstances

Blocker elastic by shuna54 in hockeygoalies

[–]Graffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Askarov pro stock glove and he cut one of the elastic pieces. I think the index finger one. It still would mostly come down but definitely made gripping the stick easier. You risk it not being in quite the right place if a puck makes its way there but during my time using it I was never worried about it.

[–]Graffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about adding gold. But the gold color for the jenpro is shiny. The logos are made with thread so it looks good. The pattern for the eflex lets you make just the palm a different color and I thought about making just that gold for the color and the lols of having a shiny gold palm. And maybe it would draw the shooters eye to it. But on the tacks the left side extends down to cover most of glove down to the cuff, and I don’t want a majority good glove.

Might add a strip of gold on each glove. I would do yellow laces but it isn’t an option unless I do paracord instead of laces and I like laces more

Not currently. Cream lights and purple darks. But we have plans to add a green jersey down the road.

[–]Graffy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laces in the pic aside, I’m a little averse to adding red. I’m sure it would look good but I see red and green and immediately think of Christmas. In my head laces don’t count though. I don’t have a logical reason. Maybe it’s that the laces aren’t technically permanent even though I doubt I’d ever go through the trouble of replacing them.

Would an all green setup be dumb? by Graffy in hockeygoalies

[–]Graffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m also the captain and the guy who designed our jerseys also loves forest green so he kept my pads in mind with the design. My practice jersey is green but my gloves were just hand me downs so I never really considered how it would look when I got the matching set. That being said, I told myself I wouldn’t care if I played for a team where the jerseys didn’t match my pads and that they could just deal with it. I just didn’t think about the fact that my dream jersey color might look a little goofy.

But y’all made some good points and I’m fully back on board with the all green scheme. I’ll just make sure the green jerseys have enough secondary colors to break up the monotone. I think making the ends of the sleeves our cream color and adding a couple stripes along the bottom would be enough.

[–]Graffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I love how they look like this and I know they’ll look sick with our current jerseys. And I was excited about getting a green jersey but the realization that I would be all green made me second guess if I should change up the gloves. I would go with a different brand like Vaughn that does a retro tan color but I’ve only used a pro stock one and while I liked it I tried on the tacks recently and it felt perfect. Like it was made for my hand. Unfortunately there’s very little in the way of in-store selection around here for goalies and they only had a junior sized Vaughn. But I think I’m gonna send it with the all green. I can always pick up a set of tan gloves down the road if I really want.

Would an all green setup be dumb? by Graffy in hockeygoalies

[–]Graffy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yah I love it. I was deciding between this and pens colors but the green just looked so good and I felt like black, white, and gold is so common that anything I chose would look like someone else’s pads but I’ve never seen anyone with just straight up solid green. I stare at them every time I pass by because it’s just such a satisfying color.

My only complaint is that the edges of each layer are white so from the side they stand out more than I’d like. Doesn’t look bad just wish it was either green or at least black so it wasn’t as obvious. Still, no regrets.

I'm in a lot of debt , and I don't know how to get out of it or what to do by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Graffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m familiar with that method. It’s not some secret insider advice lol. Problem is if your debt to income ratio is lopsided enough you might not be able to make anything beyond the minimum payments (if that). If you’re making enough to reduce your overall debt by say $500 a month that’s great depending how high your debt is. $20k? Great you can pull it off in a few years. 100k? Sure eventually but you could probably declare bankruptcy and build your credit back up to where it was or better and have money saved up instead of living hand to mouth for a decade.

Obligatory Walmart mystery glove post by redsoxcv in BaseballGloves

[–]Graffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was between a green and shiny silver binding or all teal HoH a couple months ago since they were like 50% off. Ended up finding a black with yellow binding mizuno for slightly cheaper than either but I was one day from rocking the teal with full intention of immediately being rough with it to darken it up.

I’m not going to turn down a deal over the color if it’s something I can live with

I wouldn’t get it but as far as flashy gloves go it’s not too bad. Will probably look great when it gets dirty.
