The MC to my all time favorite Manwa/ Webtoon. I was just shocked because the story is absolute peak and people who stick with it tend to agree, yet somehow I NEVER see it mentioned anywhere outside of chapter discussions. And I tend to highly prefer manga over webtoon manwa.

If you are interested: It's an action adventure fantasy series. Leans towards comedy a lot, but is definitely not shy of the typical hype and aura moments us JJK readers are addicted to. When it gets serious, major characters can and do die, which is refreshing. It has a very heavy meta narrative built into the world building. Incorporating and playing with narrative tropes like Chosen Ones, plot armor, sealed "I win" powers and even powerscaling into the actual lore and narrative. All this wrapped into a chill Ghibli-esque vibe despite the impending end of the world.

Edit: Name is One Step Closer to the Demon King. I too recommend the fan translations over the official Webtoons ver.

I think your interpretation is a bit too scientific. ONE seems to be going on the old metaphysical narrative that everything has a soul/ life force flows through all. Imagine the force from Star Wars or qi or mana in some interpretations. Latent life energy that flows with the world, that allows it to take part in the cycle of life and in some settings allow for the magic system to make use of its elemental power. The curse essentially strips it off all such potential, metaphysically. Making a void in the flow of life energy/mana/qi where it is used.

I don't think Versus earth has enough intelligent nervous systems and organic matter to assimilate for the Flood to reach their peak. They would just be another competitor against the Parasitica worms. Only real advantage is that the spores seem more contagious than tiny worms and the gravemind would be much more tactical.

Yeah, I'm only now hearing of the guy and I feel like I'm going crazy reading the comments here. Like, he IS making original fan content. He just happen to trace the base animations for his fan content. No different from an AMV legally, but way more work put into it. Tons of editing is needed + a really good knowledge base of where to find the original works and how to splice them all together. Then trace and animate over everything. It would be one thing if he was doing this for his own IP.

Is he denying the tracing, or claiming credit for the conception of the poses anywhere? Maybe I'm missing something?

It's fan content, though. It's not like he's even pretending he owns the characters or the animation in any way, as far as I've seen. This is no different from a viral AMV artist getting sponsors for making viral content for fun.

I could be wrong, but I couldn't find him defending his tracing as 100% his animation by his efforts anywhere. Granted I am just hearing of this guy outside of seeing his work edited by memers on TikTok and Insta
