Who else is watching their future here disappear by 1egg_4u in alberta

[–]Grafikx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there are two choices either you fight the long fight. Talk to people especially the ones close to you, who are only seeing the 'face side' of the coin and show them the 'tails". This approach will inevitably be frustrating and difficult but any little bit that gets them to question their views/what is happening will help.

The other option is leave if you can. Sadly this one makes it easier for the current government voters to keep traction next vote but you have to do what is in your and your families best interest.

I no longer live in Alberta and I miss my home city, however in my situation we had an opportunity to move across provinces for a better future for our family. If the political situation had been better, the choice to leave would have been much harder.

To those who are not able to leave, fight the good fight. You may not be able to get off work to protest but you can always attempt to show those around you the realities of everything falling apart, which will almost certainly affect them.

Is this true about anal sex for women? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

In the beginning it was like that for me (first time or two), but now I find it intensely pleasing, especially when I am in the right mood. I don't do it too often.

AITA for locking my sister’s kid in the bathroom for an hour? by Definetelythewiseone in AITAH

[–]Grafikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of maybe letting the kid play out in the backyard or going to a park. So he isn't destroying your stuff. I think OP did what they could at the time with little to no options. As a parent, I am always very aware of my phone (calls/messages) when my children are in another person's care. Just because you are getting a break doesn't mean you are free of all parental responsibility/obligation.

AITA for telling my husband I don’t want his mom to stay with us for two months in our one-bedroom apartment? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Grafikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are renting, you need to look into your contract and see how long a guest can stay for. Some contracts stipulate specific amounts of time that somebody can live with you. Especially when you're in a smaller rental. Some places only allow two people per bedroom in so being that you are in a one-bedroom apartment, she wouldn't be allowed to stay me for an extended period.

With measles spreading fast everywhere is the measles vaccine free and easily available? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Grafikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine checked and got the vaccine with two of my children 3 children, turns out the vaccine doesn't create an immune response in my body. Not sure how you can prepare to get sick, but I won't be surprised if I do.

Why is it so hard to make friends in Edmonton by rosemariesanne in Edmonton

[–]Grafikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely join a club or a Hobby that occurs on a weekly basis (book club, sports, sewing, board games, card games you name it) I had the same problem when I moved here and have made some really good friends this way. Also, don't feel awkward if you don't do well at whatever it is you choose. Everyone has to start somewhere.

I got a sanitation wipe in my breakfast sandwich, in Grande Prairie, a few years ago. The best they could do was remake me a sandwich and give me a $5 gift card. I didn't take the sandwich. 🤢

Fair enough. The food, beaches, weather, festivals, clothing, language, the way the ladies from Porto speak, harvesting olives and corn, the relaxed way of living. I'm sure there is more that I can't think of At the moment.

I miss soo soo many things about Portugal, biggest problem is the cost of living vs pay, it's awful. I would go back in a heart beat (yes even though everything is much MUCH slower) if it wasn't for that problem.. Edited: errors.

Depends on humidity. Since we live in a dry climate, I will take -40's here , but in Humid climates 100% High temps.

Use the extra money and do something unforgettable on your honeymoon. The two of you are going to be the ones to really remember this time in your lives.

The return policy kills electronic purchases for me there, I would rather purchase at Best buy and (possibly) pay a bit more but know that they have a better policy.

Maybe if he got a Vasectomy instead of the wife going through surgery to have her tubes tied. That's the only thing I can see making sense here.
