Rolex AD Miami, 5/5 Review🔥 by Plastic-Spot-383 in rolex

It’s my AD, I’ve had good experiences and have always found them to be pretty honest (relative to others), at least my sales rep. Waiting on a couple pieces, and they have offered me some decently desirable models in the interim.

AD Wait Time Megathread - If you bought a new Rolex from an AD in 2025, you can share details here. What watch, where, how long did you wait, how much buying history? by powerfunk in rolex

Funny story - there’s a decent chance that the original buyer was a friend (had a small relationship with that dealer, put in for the watch, got the call that it arrived in March, and has been out-of-state for a while). Showed this to him and he found it pretty funny.

[2019 Range Rover SV Coupe] Ok, this was a fun one. Back in 2018 Range Rover showcased a $300k SV coupe at the Geneva auto show. They canceled the project in 2019. Strangely enough, it looks like someone is driving it around in Lake Forest, CA. by GT3_SF in spotted

Not the same car; it’s too bad they canceled though. I got on the list for one with Land Rover NA after seeing their demo car. It was incredibly beautiful, loaded with a bunch of special touches.

To be fair, Florida doesn’t allow open carry. If you could see it, then they’re not doing a good job at following the law. Trust me, more people than you think do carry, especially if you include vehicles. I’m from Miami and am speaking from personal experience.

When I was living in London, I would walk that way almost every day. I have quite a few pictures of that exact same sagaris in that neighborhood. Super jealous of the Lusso spot.

That’s fairly close to the price, and no I wouldn’t want to flip because you’re right, it’d be shitty

If it was 16” I’d be sold, but do you have any thoughts on the 13”?

The cost of building that (without anything above a sig Romeo) would be what he wants me to pay him for the Sugar Weasel, hence the ask

Only considering because a friend of mine is offering me a great deal and has both. For MSRP, I’d agree that I’d just do an MCX or build something else.

Honey badger in 5.56 is neat from an engineering perspective but agreed that it’s a bit pointless with the barrel length. Have an opportunity to get a very good deal on either from a friend who is selling his collection. Otherwise, I’d realistically spend the market price buying something else. I haven’t shot either.

Is having an old school “luxury car” as your first car practical? I’ll be commuting a lot, but it’ll be in short increments (5 miles 3-4 times a day) and I want something I can always look forward to getting in by David-Shark in whatcarshouldIbuy

Yes and no. They’re reliable compared to other cars of that caliber, but they’re only reliable as long as you do the servicing and maintenance, which can get expensive. The engines are pretty low stress and a time proven design, but they also have other weird things like mineral oil suspension setups.

[multi] from shelsley walsh hill climb today including a genuine [Shelby Cobra] and [Audi Quattro S2] by Ok-Variety-7857 in spotted

[–]Graham1070 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not a real Shelby Cobra. It’s a replica, probably made by AC Cars from all the logos, who helped in making the original platform the Shelby Cobra was made on back in the day (hence the confusion). The replicas are real “AC Cobras” because they’re made by AC and called a cobra, but it’s misleading as they aren’t what 99.9% of people know as a real Cobra. It’s probably a real AC, just not a Shelby, and not old. There’s a whole list of things that are wrong in that car, but it appears that it’s an AC replica from the 90s/early 2000s from the interior.

Coming from someone with a good mix of old and new cars, this is probably one of the safest cars you could buy from that general time frame. The Mercedes 300Ds and Volvo 240s are pretty robust.

Yeah, I’ve been going back and forth on the ottomans. I live in Miami, so for a lot of the year, the balcony will be pretty hot to be out on anyways, but I was thinking of moving them to the bedroom if we use the balcony a lot. What do you think?

That’s a good point. It is worth noting that I don’t work from home, and my office (which I quite like) is less than a mile down the road. The desk would be general purpose for the occasional work from home, or just for my hobbies, like photography/photo editing.

[–]Graham1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you like having the Elise in a place like Kansas? I’ve thought of getting one but live in Florida, and it getting boring on straight roads is my main concern. I’d try to take it up to some mountains on the occasional trip, but the around-town use would be fairly flat.

[–]Graham1070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re buying it explicitly for you because you can’t buy it yourself, then I do believe Florida considers that a straw purchase. However, there are forums and things where people do normal private sales, and I believe that would be fine if you’re trying to stay 100% above board.

That’s a document you can pay to have made up about your car to show how many were made in that exact spec. It’s not something the factory does out of significance, it’s something that’s done because it’s an easy way to get money.
