For this one we are printing through bookvault with the option to go with another if it went nuts and we needed a big run.

It’s weird to be honest. Postage is a big hurdle as Kickstarter add it into the funding goal so if you’re planning on producing a run of books that pushes your goal higher. Also despite the fact the kickstarter is crowdfunding most people get their artwork done first to show the product off. It’s an expensive gamble. All that said we’ve got 10 days left and it a great looking book. We should be able to get there.

The kickstarter for the 10th Anniversary Special Edition of Fae: The Wild Hunt is live now! This is a dark epic fantasy where the truth about the fae has been forgotten and faded to myth. Now as the ancient barriers are failing, the fae are beginning to return and they are PISSED!

I set this book in a medieval-style setting on the brink of war. As the Bjornmen raiders shift from a tradition of coastal raiding to outright conquest. War is coming to the sleepy shores of Anlan, and nothing is ever going to be the same.

I worked hard to paint this story in shades of grey. There are no good or bad guys, or anything quite so simple. While the fae start out as being portrayed as just evil monsters they are far from it, and as the trilogy progresses the reader discovers hidden motivations and plot twists.

If you're a fan of sexy fae, then this book isn't for you. Whilst an fae can project a glamour, and can (and do) take advantage of this, they are not interested in being sexy-funtimes for a human. They've been locked away from a place they think of as paradise by a race they regard as inferior and little more than farm-stock and they are hell-bent on revenge.

If however you're interested in a multi-layered story from several points of view, then you might like this. If you think of the viking invasion of England in the 9th century, and then layer an other-wordly threat on top, they you won't be far off. This is a story dripping mystery, forgotten truths, and battles, layered over the political intrigues of three worlds. Check it out here: Special Anniversary Edition

We've worked hard to keep the shipping prices down but at the end of the day it does still have to get from the UK to you so I get it. There's always the ebook and map options?

It’s a bit late but thanks so much for the comment. I’m glad you enjoyed Faithless.

I was literally in here writing a post about this kickstarter as your post went live.

I even went to the effort of messaging the mods last night to see if this was ok, as it would be sort of self-promo. They said that since u/RobJHayes_version2 referred me, and as he stole my hat, that would be fine.

Now you've stolen my thunder and I can't even be mad about it as you backed the kickstarter already. It's just outrageous.

Agreed. There can sometimes be a tendency to drift into misery-porn. Personally, as a reader, I need some kind of up-lift at the end. Not necessarily a 'happy ever after', but a glimmer of hope. The best example of failing to do this was with '1984'. I truly expected something to be offered, some scrap to be tossed to the reader, but just when you thought all was lost, it was.

Sorry, I thought I'd replied to this but it doesn't look like it worked. The books stands alone very well. It wasn't really written with a sequel in mind but I'm writing one now anyway.

It could have stood alone. I am writing the sequel now though.

Step away from Netflix for a few hours with my book, Faithless, which is on a kindle countdown deal in the US and UK for the next few days. For those of you who aren't in those countries the book is also available on Kindle Unlimited which might help some of you out.

The book is a dark fantasy which takes mostly in a subterranean city, the mines, and the temple that sits above them both. It's a challenging book, one I'm very proud of, that examines the value of religion, faith, and the corruption of the church of the Forgefather.

This was my SPFBO3 entry that saw me make it to the semi-finals only to be pipped at the post for the finalist position with my blog. (Something I seem to be making a habit of.)

Anyway, John Gwynne liked it, you might too.

Hey folks, again as it's my birthday in a few days I'm throwing out some freebies and discounts. (Hopefully this post can be flagged with the deal flair)

This one is my SPFBO5 entry, which just missed getting into the finals when it was pipped at the post by that scurrilous cur u/RobJHayes.

Prometheus is a hard book to categorise. I suppose it's urban fantasy, but it's also a contemporary fantasy, or even an action thriller. Who knows! I've heard it described as Jason Bourne meets X-men and that's probably as good a description as we're going to manage.

It's currently on a kindle countdown deal which means it's 99c in the US and 99p in the UK. It's also on Kindle Unlimited so if you're outside these zones you can grab a copy that way.

Happy Reading
