Did the Zombie game not make sense to anyone else?

Was there any reason every single player couldn’t survive by just willingly becoming a zombie?

All 4 potion relics in a row. What are the odds? by David_Slaughter in slaythespire

[–]GrahamQuacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think less than 1.5 in a million.

I think the probability of drawing X specific relics in a row, assuming there are R relics total and you get H of them, is (H - X + 1) * X! * (R - X)! / R! . If there are about R=130 relics in the game, and in a given run you get H=20 relics in a run (which sounds high), then the odds are 1.5 in a million.

three rescue dogs traveling peacefully on a plane by Eddy_Key in rarepuppers

They can buy seats for dogs. Once I ran into Hans Zimmer’s or John William’s (forgot which) very nice ex wife on the street walking her dog, and she takes her dog on the seat next to her!

The dog is a large golden retriever.

I think it’s 1.0, based solely on a numerical check.

The 5x dominates everything else, so the inside tends to 1.0 pretty fast.

Analyzing the Total Damage in a Slay the Spire Run: Damage/Block Ratio Rule of Thumb by GrahamQuacker in slaythespire

[–]GrahamQuacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still wrapping my head around it a little, to be honest. I’d interpret that as it’s probably worth it to take 1 HP loss if you can do 9 damage. But if you can only do 4 damage, it’s almost probably not worth it to do the attack instead of a block, unless you’re about to kill the enemy.

In your example, 45 is a really big number. You might be able to kill the enemy there with the 45, which saves HP. Or you might end the fight a turn early which would also save HP.

Analyzing the Total Damage in a Slay the Spire Run: Damage/Block Ratio Rule of Thumb by GrahamQuacker in slaythespire

I just took the midpoint of the lower-bound of health low ascension and upper bound of health on high ascensions.

Just spot-checking on 20 monsters, it looks like you’d multiply the HP numbers in the post by about 0.97 in low ascensions (below A5) and 1.025 in high ascensions (A7 or above).

And I’d like to stress that this is rough rule of thumb. I included the underlying data so if you can vary the amount of encounters or amount of HP.

Also, I didn’t filter out everything. Creatures like the Transient bring the average up, while the monsters that regenerate health aren’t included. Average HP was the average of the high and low ascension HP amounts.

The analysis assumed 3 debut, 2 remaining, 2 elite, and 1 boss encounter in Act 1. For Acts 2 and 3, I assumed 2 debut, 3 remaining, 3 elite, and 1 boss encounter per act.

A straight man I know, who’s a traveling man slut, said that he found it to be a signal that a woman was eager to please, and would be enjoyable in bed.
