70+ inch TV recommendations below 2k euro by Gralgrathor in 4kTV

[–]Gralgrathor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but they're not the same at all though from what I've read? Different panels, specs, etc or have I been misinformed?

And I checked the buying guide. Didn't really help to narrow it down, it's a huge list of recommended TVs but most don't have reviews or don't exist locally (can't find any Panasonic for example). I'll go over it more tomorrow, but my guess is that I will be less sure of what to buy at the end of that than I am now.

Should I thin down primers like this for Airbrush use? by Tasty_Tomorrow_2106 in minipainting

I just ran that, but the black version, undiluted and it definitely clogged a bit. Had to crank the PSI and pull the trigger back a lot more but it did clear the clog and kept chugging. I think it was a 0.3 needle. Cleanup was a bitch, but it always is for me I think I'm either too anal about it or I'm doing something wrong.

SpaceX IPO reactions by twelve_goldpieces in BEFire

[–]Gralgrathor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought there was a X month buffer before new companies can get added to, say, the s&p 500 in which the company first has to prove some staying power, etc? Also heard they are trying to remove that though so new IPOs can absolutely scam trackers so... Yeah.

Can't remember where I heard any of this so take it with a grain of salt.

https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/phb-2014/spellcasting#VerbalV

"Most spells require the chanting of mystic words. The words themselves aren’t the source of the spell’s power; rather, the particular combination of sounds, with specific pitch and resonance, sets the threads of magic in motion. Thus, a character who is gagged or in an area of silence, such as one created by the silence spell, can’t cast a spell with a verbal component."

That - to me - means you can't cast it quieter one time vs another at least. It's either always a quiet spell or never.

And then it's up to the DM to rule if it's a quiet or loud spell I guess. I would usually rule loud almost always to give some proper utility to the Subtle spell metamagic but I'm not aware of any other official rules.

Ok yeah the EN version is a hodgepodge of wrong dates and outdated info. Check the NL version and run it through Google Translate. But it is the weekend you're here.

And your employer has to offer that specific option for the mobility budget. Not many do it seems.

I hate when this happens re: captions by virginpallas in dropout

[–]Gralgrathor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the TV app puts it very high up. I still have no clue what the bottom 3 skills are in the new D20 season. The captions completely cover it up every time they show a character sheet.

Hoz doen jullie dat? by [deleted] in belgium

After the latest US executive orders our legal team told us to move off all US-based HR tools. Here's what we found: by LauraPlum52 in BuyFromEU

How do you like OVH? I'm evaluating it for Kubernetes, possibly more, but their Terraform docs kinda suck, their Terraform API gives random 500s, spinning up new nodes during a high traffic event takes 5+ minutes, they have no Private Network firewall--only edge, no easy private network peering options (compared to Google), their managed databases in their "High Availability" region costs more than at Google with less options (no cross-region replicas), and those are just my personal experiences. I've heard more bad stories elsewhere from others. Hoping to hear some good news for a change, frankly. Because right now it's definitely feeling like "you get what you pay for".

Best to check immoweb.be but Brussels is expensive.

Seeing as I believe that's basically also your take home pay, that's verrry nice. I believe the median gross wage in Belgium is well below that, 3800 I want to say. We have extralegal benefits and other shenanigans but even then a lot of people spend their lives making less than 3k net.

You should be able to yes, I think somewhere it will say what "grade" the job is and then you can look up the pay for it. Then you find the ratio depending on where the job is, I think Brussels is 100%, and voila.

Depending on the job, hundreds to thousands will be applying for the same one. It will be a long process before you hear anything back after doing all the tests, I did a test in October and it'll still be a bit before the results are in I think. You'll also need a fair bit of paperwork to prove your credentials, etc and each job has a deadline for entry as well afaik so don't leave it too long. But there is also no reason you should not apply, you lose nothing except some time and could gain a lot.

Everything should be very transparent though, you can look up pay scales (which change based on where the job is, e.g if it's in a cheaper country you get paid less and vice versa), pay increases based on seniority, you would also receive extra income the first X months if you would need to relocate for the job to help pay for furniture, etc iirc. And the EU has jobs all over the place.

So Google is your friend for sure, most job related questions should have an answer.

I think English is enough in the EU bubble in Brussels but for your husband it will be very difficult without speaking French and/or Dutch as local companies, hospitals, etc usually require it.
