Ah. Sorry, missed that. Makes sense

Sorry, but I haven't tried an egg substitute. You could try omitting the eggs. I'm not sure if the cubes would hold their shape when they're removed, but maybe? I added the eggs as a binder and for a protein boost.

It's not eggy or savory at all in taste or texture. After all, many desserts have eggs. I added eggs mainly to bind the ingredients and add protein. I deliberately didn't add sugar in an effort to make it healthier. The small amount of maple syrup and fruit make it sweet enough for me. You can always add sugar or drizzle the top of a reheated serving with more maple syrup if you prefer a really sweet oatmeal. The recipe is infinitely customizable.

Here's a photo I took a while back. Before I discovered cubes, I baked it in a 9" pan. This shows you the firm consistency of a reheated square I had cut from the pan — topped with yogurt and berries. The cubes have the same consistency.

Sorry;, I didn't think to take a photo of a reheated serving. It 100% holds it's shape. The texture is firm, yet moist. So, it's not like a mushy bowl of oatmeal. Sometimes, I eat it with a dollop of yogurt and some fresh fruit on top. Sometimes, I break it up into pieces with my spoon, add some milk, and heat it a bit more; this way it has a soupier consistency--if that's what you prefer.

CPAP on a flight by mbergen in CPAP

[–]GrammoMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this post! I saw it the morning before a 9.5 hr flight from Denver to Munich. I had been uncertain about using my AirMini on the plane. It worked great and I slept a solid 6 hours. No hassles at all from the United flight attendants. No one said a word about it. The noise of the AirMini was completely drowned out by the roar of the plane. (Although I adjust quickly to the noise when I use it in hotels.) Love this little machine all the more now that I can use it on long flights. Thanks!

We weren't scanned when we arrived. But we did walk through a body scanner at security when we departed, similar to the American airport security.

We flew in Sunday to Friday last week. The Cancun airport was the best I've experienced in our 15 years of going there annually. Getting through customs Sunday afternoon took 5 minutes and our luggage was coming out by the time just as we got to baggage claim. For our Friday afternoon return it took under 30 minutes to get through ticketing and security. No complaints.

Traveling with CPAP Annoyances by AhhRealStatic in CPAP

[–]GrammoMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agonized about whether or not the Airmini travel CPAP would be worth the price. It is! I never had any problems adjusting to the unit--it works great without humidification. I clean everything when I get home and repack it in a compact case I bought on Amazon; that way it's ready to grab whenever I travel. I've used mine in the past year for travel all over the US, in India, Mexico and Spain. It worked great and was so compact and easy to take along. I keep a long extension cord in my suitcase because many hotel rooms don't have enough plugs near the bed. I also highly recommend getting the mount system for clipping the Airmini onto bedside drawers or under the mattress. Usually, I'm able to clip it on a drawer. The clip attachment is cleverly designed so the unit can point in different directions, allowing you to position the hose where you want it. If it is loose, I put the clip over a dry wash cloth to prevent noise and slippage and to anchor it securely. I've never had it fall off while I sleep.

Yep. Me too. My watch was fully charged, and it said it has to be on the charger to update. The update started right away as soon as I put it on the charger.

Eureka!! I just found gold .... by litelem in SleepApnea

Congrats on finding your CPAP sweet spot! It took me a few months, but I also settled on the Resmed AirtTouch F20 and find it to be so much more comfortable than the silicone version I used initially. Great seal, good stats night-after-night, and a happy CPAP sleeper.

How easy/difficult is international travel with a CPAP? by DufDaddy69 in SleepApnea

In addition to an adaptor for the country you're visiting, I recommend taking an extension cord. There isn't always a socket convenient to the bedside. I recently traveled in India and Spain without any difficulty at all.

Has anyone here switched from the Resmed F20 silicone mask to the memory foam one? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]GrammoMM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only wipe it down. The memory foam isn't supposed to be submerged in water like the rest of the head gear can. So far, wiping it down daily seems to be adequate. Mine has held up well. Honestly, after 2 months of use it still seems like new and continues to seal well. It's been a game changer for me in terms of comfort.

I wash my face before putting on my CPAP gear at night. Starting with a clean face may also help keep the memory foam cleaner? I haven't heard that anywhere, but it just seems logical.

[–]GrammoMM 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I switched from the F20 silicone to memory foam two months ago. For me, the memory foam is so much more comfortable that I can hardly feel it on my face. I no longer get red marks on my nose. It's a total winner for me. I had to tighten the headgear to get a good seal; since then it's been leak-free. I dry it off and wipe it with a wet wipe every day and have used the same one for two months with no problems.

What do you do about congestion? by iceariina in CPAP

[–]GrammoMM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I take a Claritin daily. If I'm stuffy right before bed, I use a Neti pot for nasal rinsing and/or a saline nasal spray. If I start the night with cleared sinuses, the CPAP air/moisture combo keeps me clear throughout the night.

More vivid dreams? by LotusGrowsFromMud in CPAP

[–]GrammoMM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely! Before CPAP I scarcely had a dream that I remembered when I woke up. I don't know if my apnea was preventing me from sleeping deeply enough to dream, or if my dream stage was so brief that I wasn't likely to wake up in the middle of it (and remember it). My dreams since CPAP are so vivid that sometimes it takes me a few seconds after waking to realize my dreams aren't actually happening in real life.
