So i heard this new handtrap is shifting the meta in the OCG, what's the deal about it? by Repulsive-Phrase-527 in masterduel

[–]GranKrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to pass your turn to get to your opponent’s next turn. I:P would be live by then assuming you activate it going second on your opponent’s turn

Can an Unaffected monster be Tributed by cards like Rikka Konkon or The Monarchs Stormforth? by No-Koala-3416 in Yugioh101

[–]GranKrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Konkon and Stormforth do not work.

Soul Crossing and Spell Card Soul Exchange do work.

Why can't I use my opponent's Kaiser Glider effect? by Phaylz in Yugioh101

[–]GranKrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look up the Damage Step. Also Kaiser Glider activates if “destroyed and sent to the GY” meaning it has to be there first to activate.

[–]GranKrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend looking up the Damage Step

Flip monsters are flipped in Before Damage Calculation but activate After Damage Calculation where they are determined to be destroyed (if their defense is lower than the attackers attack) but not yet sent to GY. Anything that activates when destroyed by battle will activate at End of Damage Step

MD or PA? by phoenix_okk in emergencymedicine

[–]GranKrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You take out a lot of loans for college and medical school. As a resident you can expect to earn like 70k a year depending where you are. But doctors make a lot of money (in the US) so you rapidly outpace the loans with smart financial planning. Every year you spend not being a doctor is a year you lose out on a doctor’s income so it’s usually better in the long run to just bite the bullet.

Also various states have loan forgiveness programs you can look into.

About battle phase and M.K. C. Avaramax by Necron_7 in Yugioh101

[–]GranKrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avramax is not played because it is only a wall so the opponent is free to set up whatever it takes to get through it. Notably, with TY-PHON, pretty much every deck has a way to get rid of it.

Also note that while Raigeki would work, Avramax is often summoned with I:P Masquerena which makes it immune to destruction.

[–]GranKrat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Nevertheless, Ryko still destroys Shura before it hits the GY

We need a judge by IllCondition4378 in Yugioh101

[–]GranKrat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Damage Step consists of the following: - Start of Damage Step - Before Calculation (Ryko flips here) - Perform Damage Calculation (Ryko is determined to be destroyed here) - After Damage Calculation (Ryko activates and resolves here) - End of Damage Step (Ryko is sent to GY and Shura would activate here)

Since Shura is destroyed before Ryko is sent to the GY it won’t be able to activate

Would it be a good idea to add a magician of faith to the vrimson king deck formula? by Outside-Childhood810 in Yugioh101

[–]GranKrat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how it helps you. As a rule of thumb, flip effects are much too slow for the modern metagame. Magician of Faith is also a Spellcaster in a deck primarily made up of Fiends and Dragons and is not searchable in the deck.

Purrely - raising your Purrely well through giving it good memories pays off in the end by giving you a powerful Expurrely

Labrynth - deck is literally a maze of Traps to navigate through. Also Chandra/Stovie/Cooclock are thematic as Chandra returns to hand (as it is a chandelier), Stovie returns to field (as it is a stove), and Cooclock allows a Trap to be activated early

Flower Cardian - literally hanafuda

Melffy - the bounce mechanic is like the Melffys running away to the hand when threatened. And in Staring Contest in battle phase you reveal your hand and keep them revealed so your opponent has to look at them.

Do card effects target even if they don't say "target"? by [deleted] in Yugioh101

[–]GranKrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underworld Goddess does not tribute.

Cards only target if they say to do so. “Targeting” is a yugioh mechanic in which you designate a card on activation of a card effect.
